Scott Collins and Ron Cox have both been musicians since they were kids. They each play several instruments and sing. They were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in September of 1986 and immediately put together a Bluegrass Gospel band. However, they have performed many different genres of music over the years. Together, Scott and Ron recorded two album projects. As a soloist, Scott has recorded several others. Both musicians write and produce original music and have songs published. This duo has been involved in about every type of musical venture from small gigs all the way up to writing and preforming Broadway type musicals. While they often are hired to be background music, a Collins & Cox show can be more than just something for the audience to watch. Their goal is to connect with their audience and have them actually be part of the show. One of their biggest assets as musicians is the hundreds of songs they know. This makes audience requests one of the most popular things they do. At a Collins & Cox show, the audience will sing along, laugh, and just have a great time!
We are able to provide our own sound or use the "house" sound at about any venue. We own sound systems that are very small as well as very large sound systems, suitable for large outdoor concerts and festivals We also have our own stage lighting when needed. For most smaller shows, just a simple mix with minimal channels (as small as 4) is required.
A large part of our set list consists of popular songs from the 50's, 60,s and 70's. We also include Classic Country songs, Bluegrass, and Classic Gospel songs. However a lot of our shows consist of doing songs that the audience requests.
Since we perform music from a plethora of genres, and done so for over 3 and a half decades, it would be near impossible to list all our influences. We like most genres of music, and ultimately, we play what we like.
We have our own sound equipment or we can work with whatever house sound is provided.
