Cosmic Jaywalkers

Our band is dedicated to providing world class entertainment wherever we are. The ultimate goal being to create a space where the audience can lose themselves in the energizing and healing power of music. Our setlists are specially curated for every performance to provide the perfect atmosphere for the space and our versatility in instrumentation and musical backgrounds allow us to tap into any genre should there be any specific requests. That said, if there are any songs or specific genres you are looking for, we should be able to seamlessly incorporate them into our performance.

We have performed in all manner of settings from backyards and churches, to downtown rooftops and festival stages. Our sound and instrumentation can be tailored to fit any room or stage that your event may be hosted in. And the band would be able to provide most if not all of our own equipment (backline, sound engineer, etc.) if need be.

The Cosmic Jaywalkers are a Chicago-based ensemble with an eclectic array of influences. Their sax-laden, celestial sounds are born from a fusion of multiple genres including hip-hop, R&B, funk, and rock that pays tribute to the time honored traditions of jazz with brilliant improvisational passages and soulful harmonies.

The full band consists of 7-8 members with the following instrumentation: Saxophone/Vocals, Trumpet (2*), Keys (Piano), Guitar (2*), Bass, Drums/Vocals. Depending on the performance/setting, the entire band may not be utilized (for example if the performance calls for a smaller combo, only key players may be in attendance). We are typically able to supply our own backline (instruments. amps, drums, microphones, etc) if need be and would simply need access to power. We also have a set of lights that can be used for staging and added effect. If the venue does not have its own house speakers available, we ask that you let us know ahead of time so that arrangements can be made to accommodate. Additionally, we do have our own sound engineer available as well if the event/venue does not provide one.
