COVER STORY DOOWOP is a real New York City Doo-Wop group that sings in the streets and parks of NYC daily. The group is very tight and brings a lot of energy (dancing) to any party with very little equipment. Five singers and 1 upright bass give the top hits of the 50's, 60's, & 70's new life. Stand by me, under the boardwalk, my girl, tracks for my tears, up on the roof, I only have eyes for you, the list goes on & on.
This group should play at every party, event you host. I witnessed this group at Central Park today and noted they had the tourists totally engaged. Loved the voices and the songs!
If you are looking for real singing hire this group. They have beautiful voices. The venue I had my parents anniversary party at were sticklers and wanted the group to get insurance which I would have had to pay for. This group got me out of the insurance and saved me about $200 bucks. Very down to earth gentlemen. Not to mention, they will put on a killer show. Hire this group!
Price Range: $600-$3000
Cover Story has been hired for many different types of events. Wedding ceremonies, cocktail parties, surprise birthday parties, backyard barbecue's, etc.
For these types of events generally use no PA system so we show up and are ready to perform within 5 minutes. for surprise parties we can wait around the corner and come in singing!
We have also been hired as featured performers on stage. where we use a PA system, (microphones and speakers). for this type of performance we would show up an hour or 2 early, set up the PA system and run a quick "sound check" to make sure everything sounds good. This is usually done before the audience arrives.
Cover Story is always well dressed.
Tuxedos, suits or more casual looks can be requested.
Cover Story knows the importance of being on time. We are very reliable and accessible for questions anytime.
here's a testimonial from a real client:
Coverstory Doowop made our wedding ceremony something truly special. We had them as surprise music guests for our ceremony in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how their music added so much to the event. I personally love their sound, and on top of that, they are great performers.
I would also note that coordinating with them was a breeze. They were extremely responsive and professional, and worked with me to put together an amazing set of songs. We couldn't have been happier!
- Dani and Jonatan, May 2015
Cover Story was established in early 2014 when veteran street performers from several different doo-wop groups came together to form this super group. the members of the group have worked together for years and have been performing daily all over Manhattan for decades. Central Park, Soho, The West Village, The Metropolitan Museum, The Staten Island Ferry, Times Square, Herald Square, Washington Square (under the Arch) are all place's where they can be found on any given day. All 5 singers take turns singing lead or the background harmonies and are accompanied by and upright bass. The songs they sing are the hits of the 50's, 60's and 70's. The audience's they sing for are always captivated. participation is encouraged, dancing is guaranteed!
Cover Story performs 2 way's, with a PA/sound system (6 microphones, speakers, etc) or all acoustic, no electricity.
We can supply a PA system or we can use the PA system provided by the venue.
(or we can go without a PA system or electricity all together!)
Whether we use a PA system or not would depend on whether we are used as background music or as a featured performance and also the size of the venue and the size of the crowd. All these factors would need to be discussed when negotiating the contract.
