Josh and the entire Cuarteto Guataca ensemble did an amazing job for our wedding. They played for our ceremony and dinner and received SO MANY compliments through out the night. I booked Cuarteto Guataca for my wedding reception and they were the stars of the party! From the beginning, Josh was super flexible and easy to communicate with. I had a date and venue change a few months after booking them and the band was able to move things around to accommodate the change. They were able to play the songs I requested, which was lots of colombian salsa. Josh recommended we add a female vocalist and WOW, Maria Raquel blew us away, as did all the band members!!! The party would not have been the same without them- they made the party the most fun wedding ever! All of the guests came to me to say how much they loved the band. I had contemplated getting a DJ instead but I am so happy I didn't. The vibes would have been completely different and not what I wanted. Would definitely recommend booking them!

We loved this band! They played for my father's 80th birthday fiesta outside around the pool. They were friendly, punctual and wonderful musicians. They adapted to our requests and very talented musicians. I would fully recommend them and hire them again in a heartbeat.

Cuarteto Guataca gave a fabulous virtual Zoom music performance! I hosted an end of year holiday virtual meeting with my staff, and Cuarteto gave a phenomenal 30 minute performance - a holiday music mix in both English and Spanish. The percussion and Cuban sounds were a huge hit and my team enjoyed the performance. I highly recommend!!

Hired the band for a corporate event on Zoom. They were super professional with an excellent set up. The sound quality was fantastic. What a delight. Each of these musicians is accomplished in their own right. When they played, something special happened. Guests remember dancing in another time and place. Their music is fresh and yet we felt like we traveled to Cuba 1948 or la Belle Epoque or even some speak easy when jazz was organic and authentic.

Flexible, smart and professional you they will weave the final net of magical dust on such a special day.

We hired Josh to surprise serenade our sister who was without family this Xmas due to Covid. He was incredibly easy to communicate with and very accommodating as we talked through the details of the surprise. He was even willing to stop at a bodega to bring her some flowers! The surprise couldn’t have gone better. Josh is clearly a talented musician and singer. Thank you so much for helping us with this gift - wouldn’t hesitate to do this again sometime in the future!

It was my parents 67th wedding anniversary and they live in an assisted living community with limited contact with the outside world because of COVID19. Josh and Jainardo came to play wonderful songs by Frank Sinatra in English and Mercedes Sosa in Spanish. My parents watched inside through the window screen while Josh and Jainardo played outside on the patio. It is a wonderful and creative way to celebrate during these difficult times. I highly recommend Josh and his band. They have an extensive play list from jazz, cuban salsa to contemporary folksy songs-something for everyone to enjoy. Josh makes it so easy to select your songs and communicate any special requests. Josh and the band are a wonderful way to experience music, joy and celebration while praticing social distancing for any gathering. I would do this again. Thank you Josh.

The Museum of the City of New York hired Josh Levine to provide live music for a museum wide festival in November, 2019. We needed a latin band, a jazz band, and a music workshop for kids and families. Josh delivered on every count.

Cuarteto Guataca and Heidi and the Troubadours were extremely professional, easy to work with, and willing to consider the scope of the event and audience when planning their sets. They were also willing to work within the parameters of our somewhat non-traditional performance space. The music was energetic, dynamic, and compelling and the musicians were supremely talented. They offered a truly engaging performance, which was extremely well received by our audience.

Josh and his partner Vanisha Gould gave two thirty minute music workshops with for kids and families. They connected with the audience through sing alongs, call and response, stories and movement songs.

Fantastic. Our small group loved Cuarteto Guataca. Josh was responsive during initial conversations and accommodating given the short turnaround time between booking and the event. On the night of, the musicians showed up on time, were professional and best of all, they played beautiful music.

I wish I could have more parties just to have them play. Also, Josh was beyond friendly, professional, and very easy to work with from day one. He even stayed longer to hang out with me and my friends. I myself was a professional musician for a decade so I searched long and hard for the perfect band. Thanks to Cuarteto Guataca, my best friend's baby shower was something that will not soon be forgotten. They happily accommodated our requests for Latin songs and engaged the group easily and effortlessly. True professionals, they were easy to communicate with and reliable to work with. Their music was fantastic and really set the tone for the party (purposely organized to be more of a cocktail party than a traditional shower)-- their accomplished playing set the perfect mood in both volume and sound without being distracting or overbearing. They instinctively knew when to keep things in the background and when to engage their audience. I cannot recommend them enough.

We hired Josh for a special situation as we wanted a performer for a proposal, everything was great from the moment we reached out to him he was professional and did an amazing effort learning two songs in Spanish!
