Hi there! I’m Dagan. I was born in 1979 in northern Indiana. I got my first drumset a month before my 15th birthday and joined my first band at 16, playing classic rock covers and some original music in local bars and coffee shops. I moved to Bloomington Indiana at 21 years old and started DIY touring with punk bands until I joined indie rock band Murder by Death in 2007 and started touring professionally, whom I still play and tour with to this day. I’ve recorded over twenty full length albums with various acts over the years, played on several EPs, and contributed drums to some single releases as well. I also recorded and released an instrumental solo album in 2021 under the name “Go To Space Die”. I’ve lived in Portland Oregon since 2009 and love the PNW. These days I’m only on the road about eight weeks a year and I’m looking to fill out my schedule a little with either some weekend gigs or some touring. Thanks for considering me for your project!
I have in ear monitors and carry a metronome to play to for live performances, but I’m happy to use a wedge too if the venue can’t do IEMs.
I’m a fast learner and a good preparer.
Some of my favorite drummers include prog dudes like Danny Carey, Bill Bruford, Marten Axenrot (Opeth). I also love metal and punk and grew up listening to classic rock on the radio as well. I’ve played blues and country too. My influences are all over the place but I’m probably the most at home playing rock music.
