Monique Starks is a professional chef with a passion for creating and sharing unforgettable dining experiences. Specializing in Vegan Global Cuisine, she draws inspiration from her world travels, made possible by her parents’ military careers. Born in Germany, and growing up mainly in Hawaii, she has also spent time in Belgium, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Thailand. She has worked alongside Oprah Winfrey’s former personal chef, Chef Art Smith, developing a new menu for Southern Art in Atlanta, and chef Gary Donlick, who is famous throughout Atlanta for his work with the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, and she has been asked to cook for celebrities and commissioned to cook for large gatherings of hundreds of people.
Health, freshness, and unbeatable flavor are the three guideposts for every one of Monique’s culinary creations. Cooking for a client’s health is a passion of Monique’s, and she is a firm believer in the idea that plant foods have the power to heal our bodies. With her freshly cooked vegan meals and avoidance of meat and processed foods, Monique has successfully alleviated suffering she experienced as a result of several health issues. She is known for using only high-quality, organic, fresh ingredients in the creation of her meals. Few things bring her more satisfaction than creating excellent meals and educating others on the incredible benefits of deliciously healthy eating. Bringing to the table more than ten years of fine dining experience, she has worked at restaurants such as Au Pied De Cochon in Atlanta, The Country Club of Roswell, and renowned restaurants at Disney World. She was named one of Atlanta’s Top 5 Chefs by the Atlanta Food Rave, an event at which she cooked for more than 600 people.
Monique holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant Management from George State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the International Culinary School of the Art Institute of Atlanta. When she’s not in the kitchen, Monique loves reading, traveling, food photography, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
My catering service is a drop off service, meaning I will bring all of the food in professional disposable food warmers, bring plates and utensils, set the food up beautifully buffet style, and provide serving utensils.
I am flexible, so please let me know if you require premium setup catering!
