Demetrick June

My name is Demetrick June,affectionately know as DJ, and I am a passionate and well-rounded drummer. I am a native of Manning, South Carolina and I currently reside in New Orleans, Louisiana. I started playing drums in church at the tender age of ten. At that age, I also joined my elementary school's band. After my parents noticed how dedicated I was about honing my talent on the drums, my step-dad bought me my first drum set. Since then, I have played relentlessly for bands, churches, and individual artists in pursuit of a big opportunity. At the start of my college career in 2004, I was exposed to different genres of music which broadened my horizons. I was challenged to play with different musicians who have thorough knowledge of the genres that I was being introduced to which then forced me out of being just a gospel drummer. After Graduation, I was blessed with the opportunity to play with an Darnel Butler, individual artist, who gave me my first start to play with his band, gospel group, and church.

Through the exposure and connections I've made, I received the opportunity to move to New Orleans where I now teach and play. I teach at Kipp New Orleans Schools as well as offer private lessons at The School of Fine Arts at Celebration Church. I also play with Dwight Fitch Jr. a solo recording artist which I met at Celebration Church. In conclusion, I'm looking forward to playing with many different artists that's looking for a vivacious well-rounded drummer.
