DITTO speaks its mind with uplifting, soulful songs. Cyndy's deep and passionate vocals and powerful rhythm guitar, along with Michelle's signature lyrical lead guitar and distinctive harmonies make them one of the most demanded duos in the business. They have brought their music to venues throughout New York, the northeast, Florida and the east coast.
Michelle Dedominicis is from New York and has studied music theory with Sy Shaeffer, Paul Simon's mentor, as well as other prominent guitarists. Cyndy DiBeneditto is from Connecticut, has won many talent awards, and opened for national recording artists including Jesse Colin Young, Jonathan Edwards, Kenny Rankin, Oliver, and more.
Cyndy and Michelle met in a music studio when their original songs were selected to be on the Legacy Album in South Florida. At the time Cyndy was performing solo and Michelle was in a band called Poetic Injustice. Their goals were similar and their musical styles were very complimentary so they decided to start performing together just a few months after that meeting. Besides their songs being chosen for the Legacy Album, Cyndy also wrote an introduction for Dionne Warwick, and played guitar on a track by Sister Rose. Ditto also wrote and performed "Tomorrow’s Treasure" used as a soundtrack for an environmental awareness video that aired at Disneyland in Florida. Their first collaboration, "Whatever you desire" as well as "Easy Way" were both chosen for nationally released compilation C.D.'s, the latter a Tribute album to Todd Rundgren, and their second album "E.NVISION YOUR P.OWER" has international distribution. Their original Christmas song “Heart of Christmas” was featured on a compilation album of Hudson Valley musicians. Their amazing unique sound won them Jam Magazines Jammy Award for Best Duo in the state of Florida. They have released three albums so far.
DITTO has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Cris Willliamson, Tret Fure, Starship, Ferron, Ani Defranco, June Millington, Romanovsky and Phillips and Monica Grant. Ditto has been featured on radio and television stations throughout Florida and New York including WRRV, WVKR, WFUV, WTBQ, WRPI, and on WPDH's "Wake up with the Wolf" unplugged show twice. They have appeared several times on "Poughkeepsie Live", Time Warner, Channel 28. You can check out more information about where and when Ditto has performed here.
Ditto was chosen by the readers of Rhythm and News Magazine as one of the Best Duos in the Tri-State area. They have been sought out by many record labels but in the end decided to carve their own musical path and keep a direct connection to the fans that support them. Cyndy and Michelle are dedicated to their craft and plan on performing and recording new music for many years to come.
