DruidSong is a folk singer. for the last decade or so, I've specialized in Celtic music, mostly Irish and Scottish. My roots are in the American folk tradition, having started playing in coffee houses during the 60s. I'm as regular at the Ligonier Highland Games, Pittsburgh Tartan Day and Penn's Colony festival. I've released 9 CDs to date, including the double album "Back In The Day", which is a celebration of the 60s era folk music. My act includes not only songs, but jokes, stories, tall tales, commentary on the history surrounding the songs and outright lies. (Yes, I lie for a living.)
I turn to Druidsong when I need someone to entertain in a Irish vane. Druidsong not only can liven up a crowd, but he is knowledgeable regarding the songs he selects and this makes for a more interesting experience.
Response from DruidSong:
Thank you kindly, Jackie. It has been a pleasure working with you, and I look forward to doing so again in the future.

Expect to have a good time! I'm not simply a folk singer, but am genuinely interested in what the songs mean and where they came from. I tell jokes and stories related to the songs I sing.
DruidSong is Bruce Golightly. A veteran of the "coffee house" circuit in the 60s, I've been performing folk music for many, many years. I presently (2015) have 9 CDs available.
My work centers on Celtic music, predominantly Irish and Scottish. I draw from both ancient and modern sources, but always with an eye towards the traditional "sound" of Celtic music. The songs I sang during my coffee house days are still works I perform, adding American "folk" to the mix, as needed.
The act includes not only songs, but stories, jokes, tall tales and outright lies. (Yes, I lie for a living!) I talk about the historical setting of songs when appropriate, placing the lyrics into context.
I provide and use my own sound equipment for most venues. For larger or "noisy" performance areas, I prefer to use Larch Audio to provide sound.
Access to the performance area is required approximately one hour prior to the performance. This is to allow time to set up sound equipment and running a brief sound check.

From the Celtic genre, the Clancy Brothers, Tommy Makem, Andy M. Stewart, Ed Miller and others have provided both sources and influences, to name a few.
