This is a live music show that features the original music of [echelon the seeker] his band & background singers known as "næöji". These performances also showcase many well know covers that have been especially arranged by echelon.
Armed with a vision and a compositional structure towards music, Echelon the Seeker traverses the soundscapes of digital music with a handmade gesture towards song-writing and creativity. Interested in the narratives of story-telling through the sound of music accompanied with lyrical coloring. Echelon the Seeker's music searches for the light of life in various places with the intention to harmonize the voice, the instrument, and the lyric into an experience pointing towards future.
Born into a home filled with the vibrations of music, Jason Sellers, 28, was attracted to music at an early age. He developed his musical mind through the filters of classical, spiritual, and jazz music along with his two brothers whom functioned as writing partners and bandmates. He furthered his musical journey by studying the art of musical composition at Oakwood University, a small historically black school located in Huntsville, AL. During his matriculation he explored the works of Igor Stravinsky and Leonard Bernstein along with the works of contemporary artist introduced through friends and like minds. He interpolates these experiences with his soulful upbringing of gospel, motown, funk, and black spiritual music to make the sonic foundations of Echelon the Seeker.
On his debut eponymous EP, one can see the fruits of his labor of love expand into uplifting musical ideas that speak of survival, truly living, futurism, and unconditional love. He layers these ideas with a 80's-esqe tint that sparkles with each progression and lyric, aiming towards re-definition and community solidarity. Culturally aware and political in poetry, Echelon The Seeker's sound comes to the forefront as he learns the differences between art of the now and life in the future.
