Eighties Acoustic

It all depends on your event. I have a standard three, 45 minute, set show but this can be suited to your needs. I have no backing tracks, only guitar and voice.

Forty years ago began an era in modern music that had a new sound. With electronic music, electric guitar, synth bass and gated snare drums, new wave music caught “American Bandstand” by storm, generating countless hits that had nightclubs dancing all through the eighties. But, what was underestimated was the quality song writing in that period. Also, we often here say that a great song can hold out on itself without all those ornate sounds and gimmicks, prevalent in the period.

This is what this show is all about: to bring you beautiful new wave era songs into mostly one guitar and one voice arranged songs. This is what Richard Plourde, experienced singer-guitarist, is offering in his new show entitled “Eighties Acoustic” . Drop the spray net and the shoulder pads, but remember the great songs we danced all night to. Come experience the eighties in an acoustic/folk setting.
