Eli Bucheit is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. He leads bands with a flexible lineup of capable musicians in the Michigan jazz scene. Eli regularly performs at jazz clubs, weddings, parties, and other occasions both as a sideman and leader. Eli’s band can perform in a variety of styles such as bebop jazz, instrumental pop and R&B covers, Latin jazz, and classics from the American songbook.

Eli performs with like minded musicians who are dedicated to playing improvised music inspired by the jazz tradition. Whether there is a piano at the venue or a portable keyboard is needed, Eli and his band mates can set up and tear down their gear quickly and perform a set of any desired length. The repertoire can be customized to the occasion, and requests are encouraged. Most of Eli’s instrumental arrangements are drawn from jazz standards and popular music.
Eli Bucheit is a keyboard player who resides in Detroit, Michigan. After earning his BFA in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan, Eli moved to Detroit to continue his education as the Gretchen Valade Graduate Assistant in Jazz at Wayne State University. Eli enjoys listening to and playing all types of improvised music, and is especially interested in finding common ground between the boundaries of genre.

Eli’s band requires access to piano or a power outlet for a keyboard and amp. There will need to be adequate room for the keyboard, drum set, and upright bass. If the venue is outside on a day where it may rain, a 10x10 ft. rain tent may be necessary.
