Elias Schwartzman is an Washington DC-based freelance violinist, violist and mandolinist with years of performing experience. With a repertoire both broad and deep ranging from Baroque to Celtic to bluegrass to pop, he has a style to match any occasion. A musician since 5 years of age, he has studied with prominent violinists coast to coast and graduated from Oberlin College. A native Washingtonian, he performs solo as well as in collaboration with various local artists ranging from duo to full symphonic orchestra and across many genres.
Elias was a tremendous asset to my niece's wedding! She had some unusual song choices, but Elias happily took on the challenge and brought his beautiful violin playing to the ceremony. It was a great success. Thank you, Elias!

Elias is one of the most talented and professional instrumentalist I’ve worked with in a while. As an a bass player, I’ve worked with all kinds of musicians and I can confidently say Elias over delivered during event. I hired him to play when I proposed to my girlfriend (now fiancé) and he over delivered and surpassed all my expectations. I would definitely recommend him for any of your events. Not only did he make the planning process easy, he happily worked with us to prepare music for our Maypole Dance, and to provide musical accompaniment for our choir later that evening. Elias was a terrific communicator--he acted as coordinator to round up a string quintet for my event and also violinist of course. They were all rehearsed and ready to go, showed up on time, and played beautifully. I would definitely hire again!

Elias delivered perfectly with a balance of upbeat fiddling and classic holiday interpretations. He smoothly transitioned to each piece and was very well received. Elias was absolutely phenomenal. He sent me video after video of practice runs for our wedding songs.
