I am a singer that does a few different types of shows. I can do various jazz shows, such as a set completely made of jazz standards for a low-key restaurant, or a modern jazz set for a more experimental music venue. I also do alternative R&B, neo-soul, folk, indie, and more. No matter which style I do, I am committed to it and will leave the audience with a completely positive and authentic experience that allows them to connect to the emotion behind the music.
YOU'RE (Liz Page) is a vocalist, composer, and percussionist based in Brooklyn, NY. An ethnomusicologist by trade, she creates art that reflects the cultures around her and the part history plays in molding our futures. Her work is experimental in nature, blending influences from jazz, afro-futurism, folk, avant-garde, minimalism, gospel and more.
Creating her first song before the age of 5 and having grown up singing in the church, it was only natural for YOU’RE to pursue music professionally and academically, getting a Bachelor’s degree in music from New York University and a Masters in Musicology from the University of Oxford.
Now YOU'RE is a songwriter for a company that writes custom songs, and performs around New York City, singing anything from Sarah Vaughn to Rhiannon Giddens.
I have different set lists for different events, since I perform different genres. If you would like to inquire about a setlist for a specific style of music you would like me to perform, feel free to reach out!
Influences include but are not limited to: Cecile McLorin Salvant, Moses Sumney, Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas, Sarah Vaughn, Ornette Coleman, Sufjan Stevens, Stevie Wonder, PJ Morton, The Velvet Underground, Elizabeth Cotten
1 microphone, a microphone stand, a music stand. The rest of the equipment I would need is dependent upon the size and type of venue
