Emma Christie-Foster Jazz Quartet

The Emma Christie-Foster Quartet (or Trio) is a simple arrangement of Vocals, Bass, Drums, and Keyboards. With a set list spanning past 3 hours and a small footprint, the Quartet bring their own equipment and modest amplifiers.

The set list is a selection of well-known American Jazz Standards in a breezy, light, swinging style. Engaging as a main headline for an event or lovely as background music, the band performs music that's easy on the ears and a joy to listen to.

Specializing in American standards and jazz tunes, the various members of the
Emma Christie-Foster Quartet have performed in numerous venues and with leading local and national jazz musicians.

Emma Christie-Foster is an award-winning vocal arts major at the San Diego School of the Creative and Performing Arts, and also performs with Grossmont College Jazz Orchestra and The International Academy of Jazz. Emma studies privately with the renowned jazz singer Kevyn Lettau and is mentored and has performed with Whitney Shay, nominated for San Diego's best Blues Vocalist, and legendary trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos.

Emma has performed live at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City to perform in the Essentially Ellington competition, organized by jazz great Wynton Marsalis. In August 2016 Emma and the IAJ opened for 2016 Grammy-award winning Cecile Mclorin Salvant as part of the San Diego Symphony’s Jazz at the Jacobs series.

No special lighting needed, and sound is simple mic + amplifiers that the band brings.
