Expect epic music accompaniment and operatic vocals. An audience can see Epikus in his full armored regalia, or in a tuxedo, depending on the venue (armor and sword are most common). If hired, Epikus will sing at weddings, funerals, concerts, church meetings, and festivals--be it classical repertoire or music of his own making.
In 2004, Aaron Woodhouse started his musical journey. Raised in southern California, he was exposed to opportunities to learn music through high school. That year, he joined the choir, and started classical voice training. He also started to dabble into film composition at about the same time, and took off from there. Attending his local community college and taking courses in both voice training and film scoring, he started to learn about the digital audio workstation as well as how to read sheet music, and music theory.
In the following years, his voice and composition skills would improve immensely as he delved deeper into the world of music. It had started with the soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and his love of epic cinematic orchestral music was growing to new heights, the more he discovered.
In 2010, he uncovered the world of epic music by hearing the album "Invincible" by Two Steps From Hell, as well as other trailer libraries and labels, and began to create music that reflected his passion for the genre. He also began diving into using sound libraries, namely East West/Quantum Leap libraries, and began securing his signature sound.
By 2014, he had begun to develop his own style, and therefore began the journey to creating his own unique brand. Working furiously on his craft, he realized that he would need to have a name for himself eventually.
In early 2015, that name came, in the form of "Epikus," where he started a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing his musical exploits and teaching others how to compose in the most basic way possible. He continues to teach and showcase to this day.
By late 2015, he had enough material to release his first solo album, and did so under the title "Catharsis." Since then, he has released two other albums: "Parks & Seasons: A Tribute To The National Parks" (a solo piano album), and "Cataclysm" (an epic/hybrid action album).
Aaron "Epikus" Woodhouse continues to create epic music on a weekly and monthly basis.
