SHORT VERSION
Born in Montreal, Eric studied guitar and improvisation in New York City before moving to Berlin, where he spent a decade as a sideman to big and small names of the European music world. After re-locating in Toronto, he worked as a studio and live musician and dove into blues, country and music tech. This interest in the intersection of art and technology has led to recent recordings exploring common ground between composition, electronica and various global music traditions. “DARN, THAT BAND!” is the first studio recording of his new project.
NAME DROPPING
Name dropping feels very silly, but we understand that it provides necessary contextual information, so here we go...
In Montreal, in the early years, Eric worked with Sylvie Paquette, Luc De Larochelliere, Bernard Primeau, Guy Thouin, Michel Ratte, Slide Hampton.
Later in New York city, he also played with David Binnney, Anthony Cox, Dave Douglas and Scott Colley.
In Berlin, he toured and/or recorded with Til Broenner, Dave Liebman, Jocelyn (link hidden)ith, Rebekka Bakken and Helge Schneider.
Since moving back to Canada, collaborations with Richard Underhill, Carlos Del Junco, David Clayton Thomas, Genevieve Marentette, Irene Torres, Heather Luckhart, Jordana Talksy and Denielle Bassels have been keeping him busy.
