With his stirring ability to be both introspective and outwardly observational, with an excess of emotion and a touch of social criticism, Erick Northrop is not your grandfathers country artist. With the belief that country music is not about "where" you were raised, but "how" you were raised, Northrop began a solo career in early 2015
Erick has such an amazing voice! I fell in love with his music the very first time I heard him 4 years ago. He is funny and works well with the crowd and his passion shines through during his performances.
I have seen Erick Northrop at many venues and I have NEVER been disappointed. The range of cover songs offers something for everyone. He had several originals that are awesome and I can listen them over and over! This artist is phenomenal in his interactions with the crowd, he is warm, engaging and really funny. I have the best time every time I see him perform and I don't plan on missing one show.

When a talent buyer hires Erick Northrop they hire not only a talented musician, but a professional one.
He arrives early to soundcheck his personal PA equiptment, adjusts for different environments, even carries a small 15 watt acoustic amp for very small venues such as coffee houses. He learns the names of the staff and is always polite and courteous. Show begins on time. Can either be family friendly or "bar" friendly given the atmosphere. Erick does not require a sound man, free anything, or any any special amenities the venue might offer. Give him a date and time and a place to set up and he will give 100% every time. He has roughly 20-30 fans in Connecticut. Realistically, not all of his fans will be in attendance for every show but He will be working to heavily promote the show by contacting local press as well as social media and event pages to raise awareness of the show as well as strengthen the draw.
Audiences who come to see Erick Northrop, have claimed to have "not had that much fun in years." Providing music from as far back as the 50s to as recent as the 2010s. Erick's set is made for everyone. Everyone is made to feel special and appreciated at every show, fans are encouraged to sing along, and dance. Erick is a performer and will provide lots of energy, promotes positivity and all around good vibes. He is an up and comer but the stage is where he belongs and he performs as if he's been there his whole life.
With his stirring ability to be both introspective and outwardly observational, with an excess of emotion and a touch of social criticism, Erick Northrop is not your grandfathers country artist. With the belief that country music is not about "where" you were raised, but "how" you were raised, Northrop began a solo career in early 2015. While also stating that country music doesn't have to fall into a certain sonic sound. "You can write a country song with heavy metal under tones. It's about the message," Says the singer/songwriter.
He represents the artists who love more than one genre of music and don't want to paint themselves into a corner stylistically. When asked about his particular style of music Northrop simply said, "If you love Johnny Cash and Metallica your music should reflect that without fear of musical persecution. I stand for expressing my feelings and my musings the way I choose to, and country music allows me to be free and open about my expression."
Northrop casts an unpretentious, no frills image on stage, he is who he is. A simple man with simple taste and a unique view as to what his particular genre could be, peaks and valleys, much like life. Erick's music is full of ups and downs. Commenting on his terminal uniqueness he candidly admits. "There isn't anybody my age doing what I'm doing in the way I'm doing it." And rightfully so, playing an electric guitar slung low with ripped jeans while singing about how much he loves his woman or his momma like a country artist would but without the cliches of tractors, trucks and cold beer. While breaking the monotony by singing about gangsters and outlaws from the old west. Erick Northrop is definitely rarity in his genre.
Northrop concluded by commenting on his age and his self described, "old soul" corresponds with his writing style. "I sing what I write, and I write what I've lived. In a style all my own."
Erick provides his own PA, and requires no lights, or any special performance amenities of any kind.
