Scott Goodhart, over 30 years of experience playing bass for all varieties of music including, but not limited to country, Motown, soul, pop, 60's-90's rock. He has a solid style and works to keep the pocket with the drummer, as well as add some tasty licks where appropriate.. Scott has a powerful rich tenor voice for lead vocals and harmonies come naturally. Scott is currently the bassist and singer with the band "8 Mile Bend", but is available when schedule allows. Scott has also performed as a solo act as a singer, playing acoustic guitar. Scott mostly plays finger style bass, can switch it up with a pick, and is comfortable with slap, pop and tap.

Clear understanding of music theory. Ability to take cues from other musicians well.
Good sense of humor, ability to work through difficult situations.
Will provide my own rig, or play through house system/direct to PA, if required.
I grew up in a small town called Louisiana, Missouri on the Mississippi River. I learned a few chords on the acoustic guitar when I was in 5th grade and was influenced by my father, who sat on the edge of his bed and played nearly every night. As I got older I was drawn more to the bass guitar and began playing through a Montgomery Ward's bass and a tiny distorted/buzzing amp. Jamming with a couple of my high school buddies, I eventually moved up to a bigger bass rig and better bass guitar in my first band "Jet". We won my junior year talent contest!
My first professional gig was when I was 13 years old at one of my hometowns local Lion's club. Even though I didn't know most of the songs, I was able to follow along, and remember the songs we were playing. I got called back for more gigs, so I guess I did alright.
I attended college at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where my musical friends and I formed the band "The Secret Elephant Playground" and performed our own original compositions. A few of our recordings were played on the local radio stations.
I joined a local country band to make some extra money in college, which turned into a career. I eventually dropped out of college and went on the road with the band. The band "Southbound" played clubs all over the midwest for a 4 year span. I have been in 38 of the United States.
As time on the road was starting to get stale, in 1993, I decided to take a job as a house bassist for a club in Savannah, GA and have been in Savannah ever since. I played at a house gig at the Cavalier Country Club with the Kelli Kemper Band for a couple years. We also performed on a public access TV show, "Cavalier Club Dance" for a year or so.
That band eventually disbanded, but a few of us got back together to play as "Heartbreak Highway" at the 204 Club in Savannah. which lasted about a year, then we took the band out to other clubs for a few months.
I then landed a job as bass player for "Heartland Express", once again as a house band at the Cavalier Country Club. "Heartland Express" was eventually replaced with a band of invited musicians to form "The Triple C Band" and remained at the Cavalier Country Club. Triple C was eventually replaced by 8 Mile Bend at the Cavalier Country Club, whom I also played with.
I have played bass for Michelle Murray, of Hilton Head, SC, until she made the move to Nashville, TN.
I took a long 8-10 year hiatus playing bass, for personal reasons to focus on my family and other career in the IT field, but eventually began playing again with 8 Mile Bend on January 1, 2014 and have been with them since.
I have been married over 20 years and am the father of 2 adult girls, and the step father to one of Savannah's finest firefighter/EMTs. During the days, I am an IT Systems Administrator.
I'm kind of a computer geek, too. I also do some wood work for fun. I have built my own cajon drum, cajon bongos and a few ukuleles.
I have a Gallien-Krueger MB 500 and a choice of cabinets to choose from from a small 12" JBL, to an 18X20 (18" plus 2 10") Peavey Black Widow Cabinet (preferred)
My main guitar is a Peavey DynaBass 5-String. I also play a Yamaha BB1600 fretless, and an electric/acoustic bass guitar when the venue or song calls for something different.
I use the following effects processors.
-Zoom B1Xon multi-effect processor with expression pedal
-Boss OC-2 Octave Pedal
-Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synthesizer
My voice is good for low/mid harmonies and low tenor range leads.
