Pamela M. Jasper, PMP is a senior global financial services technology leader with over 30 years of experience developing front office capital markets trading and quantitative risk management systems for large investment banks and exchanges in NY, Tokyo, London, and Frankfurt. Pam developed a proprietary Credit Derivative trading system for Deutsche Bank and a quantitative market risk VaR system for Nomura. Pamela is a STEM leader and a private airplane pilot.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI is rapidly becoming the new frontier - yet it is clear that creating AI that is explainable and trustworthy is a necessary component of its success and wide adoption. Having led the design and development of DTCC's Model Risk program, governance board, policies and procedures and Model Inventory system, and noting how banks subject to Model Risk regulations are adapting their programs to account for AI and ML, Pamela decided to explore how this accepted successful bank governance framework can be used to address AI Bias. Pamela has developed an AI Ethics Governance Framework. Pamela brings 30 years expertise in Model Risk, program management, product management, computer programming and technology audit to the AI Industry.
Aviation/STEM: Pam runs aviation STEM programs and speaks to young people to inspire them to live their dreams and pursue aviation careers. In 2008 Pamela founded and directed an Aviation Careers camp for 22 students in Newark NJ. In 2010 Pamela created a 'Santa-Copter' event where she provided toys and an on-board Santa Clause to NYC hospital youth via Helicopter. Corporate sponsors included Boeing and Pratt & Whitney.
Diversity/Women in Politics: Despite the recent increase in the number of women running for US office there remain many barriers to full Gender diversity in us politics. As a trailblazer in traditional STEM careers and inspired by the Obamas and President Obama’s support of powerful women, Pamela chose to write a book ( in progress ) about US President Obama and women to help empower and inspire women. Pamela will tell the story of 44 women who supported President Obama in his private life, campaign, and White House.
Pamela has a B.S. from Penn State University in Information Systems, is a native New Yorker and lives in NJ.
