Flutist Faith Wasson is an international performing artist, having toured throughout Europe and North America as an orchestral and solo musician at venues including the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, National Concert Hall of Ireland, and Palais Corbelli in Vienna, Austria. Her recent engagements include working as principal flute with Lyric Opera Ireland as well as SinfoNua Orchestra. Faith is a founding member of the Pento Wind Quintet having played at the Kaleidoscope Chamber Festival and Blackwater Valley Festival. Recent chamber music performances also include Glasshouse, a Dublin based contemporary music ensemble.

Faith has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including as winner of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland Concerto Competition and the first place winner for overall instrumental performance at the ASCI East Coast Competition. In addition, she won the opportunity to participate in a side-by-side with Camerata Ireland and perform principal flute with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland mentoring scheme during the (phone number hidden)9 and (phone number hidden)0 seasons. She was granted both the Boyer College Gladfelter Scholarship for outstanding performance, and the Temple University Creative Arts and Research Scholarship Award.

Faith is also an active proponent of music by women composers, frequently performing the music of Lili Boulanger. She also had the opportunity to make the Irish premiere of the Sonata for flute and piano by Melanie Bonis. Another passion for Faith is the ability to collaborate with fellow artists. In 2018 she premiered a commissioned piece for flute, oboe, and piano by composer Sharon Kim.

Faith received her Masters of Music in Flute Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music studying flute with William Dowdall, principal flute of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and piccolo with Patricia Morris, piccolo of the BBC Symphony. She graduated with honors from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance where she simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Music in Music History and a Bachelor of Music in flute performance studying under Loren Lind of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

In addition, Faith has studied with Forough Karimi at the Universitat fur Musik (Vienna, Austria) and with Jeffrey Khaner and Mimi Stillman at the Curtis Insitute of Music Summerfest (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). She has received masterclass instruction from renowned flutists Sir James Galway, Adam Walker, Marina Piccinini, Julietta Curenton, and David Kramer.

Faith is a dedicated performer and educator and has taught junior students at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and served as a mentor at the Philadelphia Festival of Young Musicians. She currently maintains an active studio at her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
