Footprint!
We provide several options of group size and style. Our acoustic music is provided by two, three, or four formally educated musicians playing some combination of guitar, mandolin, violin, and upright bass with vocals sung by each member. We do either all instrumental or a mix of vocal and instrumental music for a variety of events such as Corporate luncheons and dinners, birthday and wedding events, holiday events, and specific theme events.
Our set lists run the spectrum of Folk, classic soft rock, bluegrass, and gypsy jazz. We can play completely unplugged for intimate venues such as house concerts and small cafes, or provide a state-of-the-art sound system for larger venues.

We can arrive as a duo of guitar and bass, or as two guitars, or as a trio or quartet of guitar, bass, mandolin, and violin (fiddle), or any combination of these musicians, all with strong vocals when needed. We can play classic rock, folk, bluegrass, jazzgrass, or very soft and mood appropriate dinner background music. We can play completely unplugged, or fully connected to our state-of-the-art sound system.
We are all university educated musicians.
Footprint is comprised of the core duo of Frances Franks on lead guitar and vocals, and Lowell-James Hicks on upright bass, acoustic guitar, and vocals. We have several musicians who rotate to fill out the group when we get requests for trio, quartet (most often), or quintet.
We are mostly "boomers", having grown up playing bluegrass, classic rock and folk, progressive rock, and jazz standards. Most of the personnel in Footprint have advanced degrees in a variety of disciplines including Law, Psychology, Counseling, and Music. It is safe to estimate that when adding our recent history as individuals and collectively, we represent well over 500 performances in the four years prior to Covid. We know the requirements of the gig, whether it be a Birthday Party, Corporate Anniversary, Non-Profit Fundraiser, Outdoor Festival, or Candlelight Dinner.
To be determined during booking discussion.

We draw from each member's eclectic musical background. Influences range from folk artists of the '60s to progressive and classic rock, bluegrass, singer/songwriter, and jazz. We, as our rock band configuration, have played Rush's Tom Sawyer, and Rolling Stones' Wild Horses to concert crowds in San Francisco. As our acoustic trio/quartet we have played Raitt and Prine's Angel From Montgomery for 'Boomer audiences in Breckenridge, Colorado. We have played Tony Rice's Manzanita for Bluegrass audiences. We have played Pachelbel's Canon in D for small dinner parties.
