It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!

I've performed at Day Cares, Schools, Camps, Assisted Living Centers, Parades, Contra Dance Weekends
I've spoken at conferences, retreats, meetings, Storytelling Festivals
I'm equally comfortable with youth groups, entrepreneurs, Seniors, special needs

"Is it just about frisbee?" Not at all. But yes it is! Let me explain...

Do you know the saying "when a ball dreams it dreams it's a frisbee"?
To me this means all of the following and much more...going beyond limitations...overcoming obstacles...creative adaption...

Frisbee competition led me to ballet classes at the age of 17...
I danced in professional companies in Europe, South America, USA...
Storytelling was a way to share my tales of travel and talent...I'd always start by saying "a story without a frisbee is like a frisbee without a story"
Playing at 4 world Championships in Ultimate in the 1990's...
Winning the freestyle world championships in 1995...
Juggling frisbees in my shows...
Speaking at conferences...

It's all come "full circle"...
Showing other what they can do and not just what I can do is what it's all about.

When you bring a "Playcologist" to your meeting, event, retreat there's a whole new team created.
So rather than team-building we're "team-creating"...that's right! Has anyone else used that term?
...a team of co-workers who can now see what makes each smile
...a team that, no matter what age, now has new common ground

Activities may include balancing peacock feathers, jumping rope, flying flarbles, juggling scarves...

And all activities relate to challenges, tasks and goals faced at work (and home...)

As a World Frisbee Champ in the art of "freestyle" I can demonstrate moves/tricks/stunt that will make the crowd go "WOW!"
But it's even better when I can show them how and the crowd goes "I did it!" That's right! "Hands-On Frisbee Fun"
When it's interactive and everyone goes home with an autographed frisbee (additional cost)
they will keep playing and the message that's on the frisbee will be seen again and again and shown to friends.

Does there have to be a message on the frisbee? No... but it only makes sense!
I'm going to "catch their attention" with my skills, stories and stage presence...
Then they will "catch the message" when they play and try tricks...

All of the students in Ms.Dudley’s class are still shaking with excitement from your performance this morning. We were all mesmerized by the tricks and tips you’ve showed us, and we are all eager to learn more. We were all very surprised at how many things you could do with a Frisbee. And we can tell you, that every student in Lancaster was very impressed with your basketball shots in the gym.
You were very positive towards everyone, and very encouraging. You were very easy-going, and gave the history of Frisbees in a way that made everyone very interested. You also had great perseverance, and optimism for the sport, that it intrigued other people to try it as well. We all liked how you included life situations, where we would need the skills that you showed us. For example, when you said: ‘to be able to blow the small Frisbee up into the air, you have to have healthy and strong lungs. So smoking or breathing in certain drugs would make it difficult. And having a healthy life-style makes it much easier, so play sports inside and outside of school and stay active.’ Or when you explained how being athletic and quick to catch the Frisbee would help you in real life, for when you are playing different sports. You connected with all ages, with a great teaching format. With large groups you made your voice extra loud and clear, but you also made sure to still be humorous. Everyone in my class said that they had lots and lots of fun.
Our teachers appreciated that the presentation was very inclusive. Students got to try lots of different tricks in an encouraging and supportive environment. Students felt that they were a part of the presentation, instead of just watching. You used your world-championship skills to insure that students were always safe. Finally our teacher commented that you were a positive role-model for following your passion and doing what you love.
