Want live music but don't quite need (or have the budget for) a full band?
Switching between keyboard, vocals, trumpet, guitar, ukulele, etc... I can bring the same sound and energy in a smaller, cost effective package.
(By the way, I am more than willing to work with you to try to get pricing within your budget!)
With music from jazz standards to zydeco to classic rock I provide music and entertainment that's not your typical "band-in-a-box" cover band/solo act. Perfect for receptions, parties and music "on the deck". And always family friendly.
Gary was great. He played for our friends Military Memorial Service. He was on time, absolutely essential because he led off the service. He was friendly and respectful. We would love to use his services again and highly recommend him as a Trumpet player for your event
Response from Gary Strickland:
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure and an honor to be able to be a part of the service last Saturday.
May God richly bless you.

We had Gary perform for a family birthday at a neighborhood clubhouse. He played just what we needed. Gary is very talented on many instruments, sings beautifully and has a great sense of humor and showmanship.

Unpretentious. If one can use that word without sounding pretentious.... I provide good, listenable music that lends itself to audience participation (dancing) to the degree the crowd desires. I will often tell the stories behind the music and the original performers. In short, I play good music for good people to have a good time!
I began performing theatre in the early eighties at a dessert theatre called Stageside Desserts (like a dinner theatre, only, no dinner...just desserts!) in Savannah Georgia. Until then, I had been content with playing trumpet in local bands and at college.
Since, I have been in numerous videos/movies, stage plays/musicals and commercials and have performed as a clown/ musician and all-around-entertainer the world over for over 40 years.
I have written and performed hundreds of shows for children and families. I like doing performances the whole family can enjoy together. None of this, "You keep the kids entertained while the adults have their program in another room" stuff. I think it's important for the family as a whole to be together.
From working for the McDonalds Corporation as a clown (yes, that's the one!) to playing blues in Lugano Switzerland for the Blues to Bop festival, to making music with the native musicians in Nigeria, to leading the body of Christ in worship, I have stayed busy and look forward to even more varied adventures in the future.
So, whether you're having a low country boil, birthday party, pool party or any event that needs live music (and nearly every event needs live music!), give me a call. I look forward to hearing from you!
Lighting can be provided for an additional fee.

I grew up and "cut my teeth" playing jazz influenced by Louis Armstrong, Herb Alpert and Louis Prima. My years as a touring musician exposed me to blues and zydeco. A child of the 70s, I'm a huge fan of classic rock and play my share in my shows. I may even surprise you with a show tune or two (from my days onstage) or even a song from The Rocky Horror Picture Show! My current full time music gig is leading worship for my church.
