As a bassist for 20+ years, I perform instrumental jazz in a variety of different settings. Although I have experience in other genres, jazz is my specialty. Depending on the needs of the venue or event, I lead small to medium size jazz ensembles. I routinely perform alongside pianists, guitarists, saxophonists, drummers, vocalists, and other highly skilled professional musicians with whom I am acquainted. I am extremely comfortable playing 'background music' for private parties or other events, and I can direct other musicians to play in a variety of different styles and/or at any volume, depending on how prominent or subtle the client wishes for the music to be.
Gary and his trio were the perfect entertainment for my partner and I's engagement party. They played an expertly curated set list for our cocktail hour that made the event really sophisticated. Gary was excellent at communicating, determining the details, and making our vision come true. He and his trio were on time, polite, courteous, and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Gary and his trio for your event!
