Gentry Blue is a unique hybrid of a band-- a female-fronted band infused with electric violin, both functioning as a cover band and original band. They take no prisoner with their raw, passionate sound and grit.

Few bands advertise themselves as a group that takes no prisoners, but that’s exactly what Gentry Blue does-- creating a passionate, raw sound involving pure classic-inspired psychedelic and progressive rock with gothic undertones. Comprised of Lydia Gentry on vocals and electric violin, Brendan DeBonis on lead guitar, Sean Jannay on rhythm guitar, Will Gibson on bass, and Tin Vo on drums, Gentry Blue stay true to their roots as they seek to reflect the rock and roll aesthetics of this constantly changing world.
Bringing their passion for music from the class to the stage, Gentry Blue, first called Gentry, was formed in late 2018 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. From there, the group began to build their psychedelic prog-rock sound in the vein of Rush and Jefferson Airplane with electric violin thrown in for good measure.
Gentry Blue was not to be stopped by the pandemic. Throughout 2020, the band recorded their first EP, "Pyrite and Steel", releasing in 2021. They followed up with the single "Tell Them I'm Insane", which was released on May 12, 2022, mixed and mastered by Grammy-winning producer Mitch Dane. Currently, Gentry Blue is touring the states and writing their first album.
We currently don't have any requirements for lighting or staging. For sound however, we highly recommend having a basic sound board and a PA system. If you have a drum set that you could backline as well this would be great. We have played lots of gigs where we need to provide everything listed above, so if that is the case, we can still make it happen depending on the circumstances.
