My experience was Great they were an Amazing Band
We hired Going Places for the main act at our restaurant's 10-year anniversary party. We were very pleased with the performance! Going Places played a nice mix of entertaining and popular songs that got the crowd going! In addition, the band members were friendly and engaged with my customers which is something I really like and encourage. The band was easy to work with and flexible. We would hire them again!

I had Going Places for my retirement party/ Birthday party, such a fun way to enjoy my party with, if you love the old school sound then you are in for a treat, they had my party dancing and really enjoying them self, and Leesa the lead singer is amazing singer, very talented!! I would hire them again!
I recently heard the group “Going Places” and was so impressed. Their sound is a wonderful mix of genres, ranging from jazz to pop to country, and the production quality is excellent. The vocal harmonies are especially beautiful. They have a unique sound that reminds me of a variety of other bands, which is something I appreciate. Overall, the music is extremely appealing and captivating. The mixture of styles provides a flavorful mix of music, making each song interesting and exciting. They have a great deal of creativity and talent, and it definitely shows in their music. This group is definitely going places and would highly recommend their work to anyone looking for something special.
Response from Going Places:
Thanks for the Kudos for Going Places Jim.
Very glad you enjoyed our music.
All the Best!
Price Range: $600-$1200
Gig Length: 60 - 180 minutes
Our band is made up of 5-6 full time members.
It consists of our lead female vocalist Lessa Rose as well as a rhythm guitarist and male lead and background vocalist , a fantastic lead ukulele player as well as a very talented lead guitar player. We also have our accomplished bass player who loves to entertain folks and finally, a wonderful drummer and saxophonist whose great horn playing and numerous energetic drum rhythm patterns keep our audiences dancing up a storm.
We have all been singing and playing music in some form or fashion for most of our lives (see our biographies).
We are outgoing, down to earth, fun loving folks who love to interact and have fun with the people we are playing for.
We will have your event goers dancing, singing along with us and just having a great time in general.
Going Places is:
Leesa Rose:
Leesa has been singing most of her life and has her own singing style and energy.
She has a big voice, a big range and loves rhythm and blues.
Leesa is positive and outgoing and loves strong female vocalist performers.
She is our lead vocalist, our Diva and a semi retired successful business professional.
Tom Gordon:
Tom is a singer songwriter that has been in various bands over his life. He plays rhythm guitar and sings lead vocals and duets with Leesa.
Tom is a super friendly guy and a ham that has never met a stranger.
Lonnie Gamble
Lonnie plays lead guitar and fills with his electric ukulele. He has been playing stringed instruments with accomplished musicians since he was 12 and people love his sound. Lonnie plays with us when he is not traveling in the US and overseas.
Mike Scanlon
Mike plays lead guitar for us and is a blues man from Mississippi.
He has been playing blues since his early teens and we would match him against any lead guitarist in Iowa.
Tim Laughrin
Tim is our bassist and he has enjoyed playing music with numerous bands throughout his life.
He is a retired electrical engineer who loves upbeat songs and plays a mean ukulele bass.
We looked for a bass player for years and finally found Tim who has played with the Leesa Rose Band in the past.
Steve Jeffries
Steve is a superb percussionist that has been playing drums since he was 12 or so.
He also plays mandolin, some piano and mouth harp.
Additionally Steve plays saxophone for us and audiences love his soothing to soaring horn solos.
We especially love having him on our jazz and R&B tunes.
Colin Heaton
Colin Heaton is the youngster in the group and he too has been playing drums and other instruments since his youth.
He brings a hard Rock type strength to a number of our 80's and 90's rock songs and the younger folks like his style a lot.
All we need is a 110 volt outlet.
We have a analog 2400 watt rms QSC power amp, Soundcraft Mix board and 4 passive 12 and 15 inch speakers that can be elevated.
We also have a digital 800 watt rms JBL EON ONE MK2 Tower system that we use for smaller venues.
