Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Merrill's musical journey has taken him across the country, from iconic venues like the Whisky a Go Go and House of Blues in California to local stages throughout North & South Florida.
Inspired by a desire to revive the timeless music of a bygone era, GOING TO A GO GO focuses on performing forgotten gems from the Woodstock era and the vibrant sounds of the 1970s. Originally formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, GOING TO A GO GO has now found its home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida where they continue to share their passion for this timeless music with audiences throughout the region
Drawing inspiration from the legendary songwriting duo of Tom Petty and Mike Campbell, we've embraced a philosophy of prioritizing tone over sheer volume. Gone are the days of ear-splitting Marshall stacks; we've streamlined our backline with iconic amplifiers like the Fender Princeton Reverb (a studio staple), the classic VOX AC15, and the versatile Fender Blues Jr.
Our commitment to sonic excellence extends beyond gear selection. We strive for authentic renditions of the songs we cover, dedicating countless hours to perfecting individual parts and ensuring each performance honors the original.
