Alev Gokce Erem was born August 4, 1983 in Istanbul, Turkey. She developed a strong interest in music at a very early age when she started to learn the piano. After finishing primary school in 1994, Gokce continued her studies at I.T.U. Turkish State Musical Conservatory. The following year, she auditioned to study classical music at Istanbul University State Conservatory and was accepted to study violin with Venyamin Warshavsky.

In 1999, Gokce attended master classes at the International Music Academy of Ayvalık and had a chance to perform with Lukas David and Suna Kan. In 2001 she took master classes in Schloss Krchlendorf, Germany where she worked with Bela Papp, Ulrike Anima Mathe, and also performed various concerts.

Since graduating from Istanbul University State Conservatory Cum Laude in 2007, she continues to study violin with Venyamin Varsavsky and gives concerts with various orchestras such as Cemal Resit Rey Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, National Reinsurance Chamber Orchestra, Sisli Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Akbank Chamber Orchestra, Maltepe Municipality Symphony Orchestra, and Orkestrasion Chamber Orchestra.

Gokce has worked with orchestras led by Sascha Goetzel, Rengim Gkmen, Alexander Rahbari, Peter Glke,Ibrahim Yazıcı, Cem Mansur, Grer Aykal, Naci Ozguc, Michel Tabachnik, Nezih Seckin, Hakan Sensoy, Erol Erdinc, Emin Guven Yaslicam,Ingo Metzmacher, and Vladimir Fedoseyev.

After a successful audition for the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra in 2006, she participated in month-long residency in Nice, France in July 2007. Along with famous conductors such as Jean-Franois Heisser and Phillippe Bender, she also had the opportunity to accompany famous soloists like Laurent Korcia, Pierre Amoyal, and Thiery Amadi. Gokce continues to work as a violinist for the Istanbul State Modern Folk Music Ensemble since 2007. She is also a member of the RIAS Youth Orchestra since 2008.

Another successful audition for the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (GMJO) in 2008 allowed her to participate in a month-long European tour in April, 2009 where she had the opportunity to meet and play with great musicians and conductors.

In 2009 she played for the International Orchestra Institut Attergau (IOIA) under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in cooperation with the Wiener Klangstill Institute in Salzburg. Gokce continues to receive invitations from IOIA to play concerts in Salzburg and Attersee.

Gokce received her Master of Music degree, cum laude, from Istanbul University State Conservatory in June 2011, studying with Venyamin Varsavsky.

A current resident of New York City, Gokce continues her studies at New York University - Steinhardt School with a scholarship in the performance program for an Advanced Certificate Diploma. She gives concerts with the NYU - Steinhardt Orchestra as Concertmaster (2013-present), One World Symphony (as Principal Second Violin), Chelsea Symphony Orchestra, Kamerata NY, and Staten Island Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed with Tony-award-winner John Lloyd Young (“Jersey Boys”) at Caf Carlyle where she played in a series of concerts with musician/producer Tommy Faragher. She also plays in chamber music groups with the most talented musicians in NYC. She is currently getting ready for violin competitions and auditions around NYC and has started to work with Alexander Markov, a world-famous violinist virtuoso.

Since May 2013 Gokce is Assistant Music Director of World Peace Orchestra. Founded in New York in 2013, WPO is a unique nonprofit organization that encourages the growth of budding musical talent from around the world. WPO celebrates the unity and diversity of global culture through annual concerts featuring over 134 young musicians from 50 countries playing both ethnic and classical instruments.

Gokce speaks Turkish, German, and English fluently.

Depending on the venue and event , I would need sound system or armless chairs to perform for ceremonies.
