Kristy Cox & Grasstime® booking 2023-24
We loved having Grasstime at our wedding! They played music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and did a fantastic job! They let us customize our set and they learned some songs just for us. We’ve also listened to them at a few outdoor venues locally and have always had a great time.
We hired Grasstime to play the music during our wedding ceremony and then during cocktail hour afterward. They played 30 minutes of instrumental music in the church before the ceremony started, then played the processionals and all the ceremony music, then hopped over to our reception venue and played an hour+ of great bluegrass while our guests had cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before dinner.
They were fabulous! The ceremony music was beautiful, gentle, and reverent and hit the exact tone we were hoping for. Then they cranked it up for cocktail hour and it was a blast - so upbeat and fun and really got people in the mood to have fun! Grasstime has an extensive repertoire and sounded so great together - plus they were so fun and so easy to work with. They have a deep bench of musicians and instruments and were so flexible. I am SO grateful we came across Grasstime here on Gigsalad and that they were able to be there to make our wedding just the way we hoped it would be! I'd hire them again in a heartbeat - and I hope I will have the chance to in the future!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Heeey Lindsay...Gosh thank you so very much for the kind and sweet words! And please do thank your sweet mother for the voice mail yesterday, as that just made my day. We were so honored that we got to join your family on your special day, and absolutely thrilled that we could play a part in making it memorable.
You and Trina made that so much easier to help ensure that we could give you the experience that you wanted. It was such a beautiful wedding! I do hope our paths cross again, please come out and visit us at the winery! Until then....
Thanks again, and heartfelt congratulations.
Cheers,
Robbie
We hosted a Derby party last year and Grasstime absolutely made our event! Their Bluegrass songs brought the whole event to life, and our guests had an absolute blast! Super easy to work with, very professional and great with communication. Would highly recommend!
Grasstime did an excellent job! They were a much needed addition to our crawfish boil!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thank you so much for having us Lorena and for the kind words! We sure appreciate it and we hope to see yall again soon!

I had heard Grasstime band play live at Arrington Vineyards and KNEW they’d be great at my wedding. I booked them to play for my ceremony and cocktail hour and it was beautiful. My guests really enjoyed the live band and entertainment they provided. They are easy to work with and Robbie is a super kind human. I’d give more stars if I could. Thanks for being a part of our special day!
I just heard the 2020 version of Grasstime and the show was great. The venue was Arrington vineyard. The 2 ladies add a new dimension to the band. They are very talented and add to both the sound and vocals. I have been a fan of Grasstime for years and the 2020 version is one of the best.
We needed a bluegrass trio for a really short amount of time on a Monday lunchtime conference in Nashville at the Thompson Hotel. My task was to find this trio - in a town FULL of musicians. I was lucky enough to find Robbie and he was SUPER helpful rounding up amazing talent to come downtown for our short window of time. My event producer even texted me with a video and said "these guys are great!"
My advice - Book. Them. Now.
Thanks Robbie!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
oh gosh.. Thank you so very much for the kind words Aimee! We always see our selves as not only musicians, but ambassadors for Music City and bluegrass and traditional music. 🙂
It was such treat for us as well and everyone could not have been nicer and more accommodating. We hope to see your team again soon! Many Thanks!

I selected Grasstime to perform at our wedding for several reasons: sound, style and talent obviously, but from their content on GigSalad I could see these fellas had character as well. I was not disappointed! The band learned 4 special and specific songs for all of our dances and performed them with a twist and flavor that was truly unique.
The correspondence with them was always quick, professional and concise and (aside from one tiny misunderstanding toward the end 😂) everything was arranged without a hitch. They arrived with plenty of time to set up and played until the sun set. These guys know how to grass up the place, and I was so happy with their selection of classic bluegrass to the upbeat foot stomping tunes that got everyone on their feet.
By the end of the night, I felt like these guys were a part of the family, and they have a goodness that radiates from them on and off stage. If bluegrass and good people are what you are looking for, Grasstime will not disappoint!
Cheers!

I helped my friends find a band for their party and it was easy to do, even though I’m in California and the party was in Tennessee, and according to people attending the 100th Birthday Party, “Grasstime” was one of the highlights of the party and I’ve heard nothing but compliments! Thanks Gig Salad!
The music was great, the band members were all very friendly and genuinely nice people, booking was easy and communication with them was always prompt and helpful!
The band even gave the guest of honor who turned 100 years old a cd and a t-shirt and he’d better not let them out of his sight because several family members are eyeing them!
We had Grasstime play for us at a VIP Reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame and they were wonderful. Sherri was great to work with in coordinating details and our group loved their music. I would highly recommend working with them!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thank you so much Christine! We really enjoyed it and had a great time!
The Grasstime crew were easy to plan with and while we were caught up in the details of event, they were paying attention to the weather! So unfortunately, we had to move it inside, but good thing we did. The event was a success and everyone enjoyed the music. Would absolutely use them again. Thanks y'all!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Hey Julia,
Thank you for the great review! The weather was disappointing but all your guests seemed to have a great time. Henrietta Red is a beautiful venue! Thanks again!
Grasstime did a wonderful job at the Naturefest event! They showed up early and were very prepared. They sounded great and brought the crowd to the stage. 🙂
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thanks for the great review Brenda! We were glad to participate in this year's Nature Fest. Thank you for having us!
Excellent performers, real pros.
Under imperfect conditions out of our control, the band was willing to go "off script" and accommodate.
Great attitudes, easy-peasy!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thank you Gina! We had fun and even though you were dealing with lots of 'obstacles' that night, I think all your guests enjoyed the event! Thanks again!
These guys were energetic and made a great bluegrass sound. They were engaging on the mic and new just how to get people in the mood. Loved every song, and we can't wait for the next time that we can get their help. We loved Grasstime, and will have them back for many more events down the line :)
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thank you Tyson! It was a great group of folks and everyone treated us so well!
This group looks the part and plays so well. They love what they do, and it really shows. The are very prompt with responding, and able to work around anything. Solution finders and problem solvers!
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:
Thank you so much Tyson! That was a very fun group and we could tell there were some Bluegrass fans in attendance! All of the band members thought that was a terrific gig and we are looking forward to the next two performances for y'all! Thanks again!
Fun, spirited, professional and very engaging. Rich harmonies provide a sound with great depth. Was thrilled that we hired them for our private party.
Response from Kristy Cox and Grasstime:

Grasstime provided the entertainment for the 2016 Pulaski Stockyard and Cafe , Block Party . Our Event was a small part of the bigger Giles County Chamber of Commerce " Here's the Beef " weekend . A celebration of the importance of Animal Agriculture in Giles County , Tennessee . We had a diverse crowd of young and old ,Farmers and City Folk and natives and out of town visitors ; Grasstime entertained them all .
