The carolers seemed a little hesitant when they arrived - but I can't blame them. They were walking into a very unique experience. It was a very very cold day and they pushed through. When they went inside to get warm, they sang for the folks working inside. Our neighbors and hosts alike were delighted by their gift of song and they truly made a huge difference in our event. I appreciated that they adapted and improvised without being directed. It was a unique event, and they found ways to follow the crowd as it shifted through the yard. They listened with compassion when Santa (my dad) and I explained what was going on with the organization and why this event was so important. One caroler came to me before he left to thank ME for his opportunity to be involved. That was a real gift!
