I'm a private violin teacher and violinist with 30 years of performance experience. I am comfortable playing for many types of special events, including cocktail parties, receptions, holiday celebrations, and weddings. My repertoire is quite diverse, from popular classical pieces to traditional folk and fiddle tunes. If you have a special piece you'd like played at your event, I'm happy to prepare it!
Ingrid's violin performance was a wonderful addition on our wedding day. She was very easy to work with and communicated quickly and professionally prior to the event. She provided beautiful background music while guests mingled during cocktail hour. She knows a wide selection of music and she even learned a new song we requested for the processional down the aisle! We would highly recommend Ingrid and hope to be able to hire her for future events.
Ingrid was amazing! I felt awful because we couldn't start on time and it rained during the whole event.
However, she was so understanding and kept playing despite the conditions. She even took some beautiful pictures of the end of the ceremony!
Ingrid, Thank you for making my special day a little more special. Me and my family will always remember you!
Wow, what an amazing experience! Ingrid was professional and perfect in every single way. She made our engagement truly special and I would recommend her to anyone looking to hire a talented violinist.
Ingrid played beautifully at our outdoor wedding. She was highly responsive and very accommodating. She showed up early to play music for our guests as they were arriving. Before we met, she had even offered to learn new music we sent her or adapt for the violin. She was lovely to work with--highly recommend her services! https://www.ingridonstrings.com/
She played the songs I requested, made the event very special...even went out of her way to provide an extra touch to the event. 10/10 :)
It was a nice treat for my guests, I had a group of friends sing first some Irish songs, then Ingrid came in and added class to the event. Everyone told me it was a touch of class!
She was absolutely amazing. On time and very accommodating. I'll definitely use her again!!
Ingrid is awesome! When I initially reached to her I had a couple of places in mind where I wanted to propose. However, not being from the area, I was not quite sure how these places would work out. But Ingrid has A LOT of experience doing proposals and had an awesome suggestion for a place. Everything worked out great, she is extremely professional and a talented violinist!
Ingrid plays beautiful music, and she is beautuful too. A delightful performance of different songs. She is a true professional.,
I didn't book Ingrid, but was booked WITH her in an upscale Christmas party in Arlington, VA. She filled the house with non-stop Christmas music, and was flexible about where she was placed. She was also flexible enough to accompany me in a rendition of "White Christmas" upon request.
Kudos, Ingrid!
Just last week, I was in D.C. with my partner for a vacation. I was planning to propose while on this trip, but two days prior I had the idea of finding a violinist to make the moment even sweeter. I came across Ingrid and I cannot stress how happy I am for doing so. Ingrid is one of the nicest people I have met, and she was completely thrilled to be a part of our special moment. She was willing to learn a new song in less than two days and her fee for doing so was more than reasonable. She even showed up to the location early and kept in contact with me via text to ensure that everything was running smoothly! She posed as a street musician inside of a monument, as I brought my partner to the location and surprised him by popping the question in the middle of the monument.. all while Ingrid played our favorite song behind us. Her husband even came and filmed the entire scene simply out of kindness. We have spent the last week bragging to all of our friends back in Cleveland about how amazing the entire moment was.
Our perfect night could not have been possible without the help of Ingrid. She was flexible, creative, and most importantly, she knew exactly what she was doing! If you are looking for a violinist for your event and reading this review, please take my advice and connect with Ingrid. You will be very happy that you did!
I booked Ingrid on Strings for a surprise wedding engagement in DC and I would use the term phenomenal to describe her services, which is still an understatement. She was very accessible and maintained constant communication. I described to her what my plan was and she immediately just knew what to do. Ingrid offered to go to the sight hours before to access the situation in the case that weather would cause issues. Not only did she do all of these things but without my request even had a friend come along with her to capture footage of the event at no extra charge! The video on my phone turned out very blurry and she was able to send me the higher resolution videos via email. Without her ingenuity it would not have been such a special event for my fiance and I.
We loved Ingrid - she was perfect for our event and much fun! Very flexible - enjoyed having her and will use again.

Guests and audiences can expect a wonderfully diverse music catalog, perfect for any event or party. Special musical requests from clients are always welcome, as every event, party, and wedding should be personal and unique. Whether you need a featured violinist or prefer background music, I'm able to provide a lovely addition to your venue or event.
I am a lifelong violinist and I started Suzuki violin lessons before I was 3 years old. I started playing with a group professionally at age 6. We performed at countless parties, weddings, corporate holiday events, churches, and other venues. I played throughout college, and continue to play solo and with other small groups. I am a featured electric violinist in a local rock band, and I also teach Suzuki violin to more than 20 students in my home studio in Arlington, Virginia.
I pride myself on being detail-oriented and over-prepared when it comes to my work. Your wedding, reception, dinner, or party is a very important event, and the music (and musician) you choose can make your day run smoothly and beautifully or turn it into a stressful nightmare. I understand that timing is important and details matter. I enjoy working with clients to choose appropriate music for their event, and I also share my past experiences to help clients avoid pitfalls I've encountered at previous events.
Clients should feel confident in my ability to make the musical portion of their event stress-free, memorable, and beautiful.
I play a traditional violin (which requires no power source, unless you provide a microphone for amplification), and I provide my own music stand. I can play anywhere, which is one of the wonderful qualities of the violin! Depending on the type of event you're planning, I am also able to play my electric violin, which sounds extremely similar to a traditional violin, but is amplified and produces a slightly more "metallic" sound. If you'd like me to play the electric violin at your event, I will need a power source (I provide my own small amp/speaker).
