Singer, songwriter, speaker on Ethiopian culture and history. Isaac has an extremely unique and fascinating history, is very charismatic, polite and performs in both English and his native language, Amharic. He weaves story with song and loves audience participation. He would be a terrific addition to any gathering.
He has striking new voice whose direct links to the King of Kings are stronger than any other singer and player of instruments this century has known. Isaac has performed at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (Marysville, CA) Roots Mountain Reggae (Tonasket, WA), Northwest Reggae Fest (Seattle, WA and Portland, OR), Roots Revolution Festival(Montana), Lake Casitas World Music Festival (Ojai, CA), One Root World Music Festival (Sacramento, CA) and was a headliner on the 2000 Annual Bob Marley Exodus Festival, traveling and performing throughout Texas and Arizona. He has played shows in Toronto, Canada, Boston and Cambridge, MA, Virginia, Boulder and Denver, CO and continues to tour and perform.

A great time!
Isaac Haile Selassie’s journey began in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he grew up under the care of His Majesty, Haile Selassie, King of Ethiopia.
Political turmoil made it necessary for Isaac to leave his homeland. He traveled to Sudan, on to Egypt, then to Europe, where he lived for a few years before coming to America.
He always had a love of music and performed in Ethiopia where he was very well known.
When he came to the United States, he was able to pursue his musical career, writing songs and performing in many different venues, from Los Angeles to Colorado, Virginia, Montana and Canada to name a few. He’s played at most of the summer festivals on the West Coast and has always had the audience dancing and cheering.
Isaac works as a speaker as well. He teaches people about Ethiopian history and culture and has given talks at elder facilities, schools and conferences. He enjoys audience participation and is always lively and interesting.
