Jason's philosophy towards the music he writes and performs is "to keep REAL organic, emotionally moving music ALIVE and WELL with a passion and positive message."
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1994, an area rich in American Roots music, Jason's fascination with sound became apparent as a toddler with his ability to discern individual instruments in a piece of (link hidden) up in a family that valued music, he began formal piano lessons at 3, drums at 4, guitar at 9 (self-taught) and writing originals at 10. At 13 he started performing professionally in local coffee shops, private parties, weddings and church where he was affectionately known as Drummin' Damico.
In 2010, while in high school, for the purpose of creating a platform to introduce his original music to a live audience, Jason formed his first band known today as Jason Damico and the New Blue. New Blue’s current members include: Brad Russell/Charlton Provatas/Alex Bingham (bass/back-up vocals), Kevin Boxell/Dan Gamma/Jason Furman (drums/back-up vocals), Jason Damico (guitar/lead vocals) and an occasional guest appearance by Jim Ferris (saxophone).
Damico enjoys playing, singing, songwriting, recording and producing music for himself and others. To date, he has produced “For You” (released February 10, 2010) and “Represent” for C.M. Represent (released September 4, 2011). His debut CD, “Blood, Sweat & Blues” (released September 24, 2014) depicts a work of passion as he wrote all the songs, performed all the instruments, recorded and produced the full CD himself. Jason's second album, "Terra Firma", a new and refreshing sound of blues, rock and funk fusion is expected to be released fall 2015. Visit (link hidden)
