An experienced singing-guitarist looking for local gigs. Can play almost any cover, and a wide variety of genres. Favorite music is rock, soul, alternative, and blues. I've played guitar for 10 years and am willing to play most anything I can cover on guitar, as long as it's not Taylor Swift. I love to create different versions of the same song, with different styles or cross genres, and improvise them in my own way.
From the moment I contacted him he was excited and eager to sing for our wedding. He was coachable and even asked what to wear. He played around with styles of singing and took critique well. He is very talented and he loves music. Our event was at the Driskill hotel and quite formal. He sand a song only to an acoustics guitarist. His voice was beautiful and everyone was impressed. I will most likely hire him again.

An experienced guitarist that can learn almost any song, and sing a lot of those. As long as the melodies are in my vocal range, I can sing it. I'm willing to cover any song, and I'm very flexible. I do have some performing experience, and I have 6 original songs that I'm willing to play anywhere. I don't have these professionally recorded, but I plan to when I have the money for recording equipment / studio rent. I can improvise, change, and cross genres with any cover of music that best suits your venue. For example, if you want a bluesy version of Change The World by Eric Clapton, I can do that. My favorite types of music to play is rock, alternative, blues, and jazz.
When I was 8, my dad put a guitar in my hands. My first thought was, "what is this, and why are we doing this now? Can't I watch some TV?". Then he showed me how to play the E minor chord, which is arguably the simplest chord in the book. I was amazed by the sound, as I had heard the same chord in many songs I've listened to. Almost every day I asked to play his guitar until finally he had enough, so he bought me my first guitar, on Christmas of 2009. Until about the time I was 9, I kept learning and teaching myself how to play Dave Matthews songs (my dad's favorite band). My brothers and my dad were amazed, because I was learning how to play these songs correctly without tabs or music sheets. My parents then signed my up to play lessons at McKnight Guitar (currently out of business) and I got lessons with an amazing guitarist/bassist named Mario Zelaya. He was a huge fan of the Beatles, and my first official song that I learned (that's not Dave Matthews) was Blackbird. I grew up learning songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, and I became (and still am today) a big fan of the classics. Although, my all-time favorite band is Red Hot Chili Peppers, who I know almost every one of their songs on Guitar. As I stopped taking lessons when I was 15, I moved to Austin from Phoenix, and I loved how Austin is this big music town. I started discovering more and more bands and music today, like Hozier, Gary Clark Jr, Matt Maeson, Arctic Monkeys, and so much more. The music that inspires me the most is the music that I can tell comes from the heart.
I can bring my own guitar and amp (only if needed), but I will need sound check. I can also bring a microphone and stand, but if you already have an amp and sound system, that is preferable and I will charge closer to my minimum. An extra guitar would be great as well. But I have the minimum equipment to perform at most places, in case you don't.
