JBJ, a Boston-based singer/songwriter, completed his first album in the spring of 2015. Although he played all the instruments on his first album, "Tin Man", JBJ hand-picked a group of musicians to play his music for live gigs. These passionate musicians make up his band, Blended Family. They have played at many local venues, including The Hard Rock Cafe, Boston. From Pearl Jam's Release, to the Pixie's Where is My Mind?, to Radiohead's Creep, to the soft-sensual sounds of JBJ's own Blatant, the band plays a variety of music that appeals to a diverse crowd of music lovers. JBJ's wild, yet melodic voice and the band's passionate performances command the attention of any room.

Music is part of JBJ's DNA. Originally from Texas, his roots trace back to musically gifted Pentecostal preachers. JBJ's grandfather, known as the "singing preacher," was a popular church leader in southern India. His son, JBJ's father, is an equally influential local figure. "Growing up in the Pentecostal church opened my world to music" JBJ says. "It also opened up some dark times." The strain of the community criticism and the rigid religious expectations took its toll. Writing and performing his own music would ultimately become his saving grace - a way for him to embrace his innate talent for music while defining his own values and standards. In 2008, JBJ left Dallas to pursue his musical dreams at Berklee College of Music. His musical career pivoted when he auditioned for and started working as a musical director at a local church. The weekly worship services gave him an opportunity to hone his craft as a performer: leading a band, connecting emotionally with an audience, and, most importantly, being authentic and vulnerable. Throughout this time, he continued writing his own original material - culminating in the release of his debut album Tin Man in the Spring of 2015. Tin Man is very much a solo project, as JBJ plays all of the instruments on the album. But, for his live show, he hand-picked a group of seasoned musicians with different backgrounds and styles.
"Now I am just looking to play my music live and ride whatever wave comes. I plan on riding the wave of music until the wave stops, or drowns me."
BJ's voice is wild yet melodic. As a live musician, he commands the attention of a room with his passionate performances and creative control of dynamics.
