I have a buttery biscuit smooth vocal tone, accompanied with my acoustic guitar and looperboard to create a lovely atmosphere for any occasion. I play recognizable cover songs from the Pop, Country, Singer/songwriter genres. My set up allows me play songs people can dance to in an upbeat setting and also play slow ballads or bring a more relaxed vibe.
I am passionate about my music and love to see smiles on everyone's face when I'm jamming.
So, whether you have a wedding, private party, birthday, retirement, non profit event, or any other type of event where you think live music might fit, I am your guy!

I am proud of the fact that I personally work with my clients before and during the event. Before a show I like to get a detailed picture on what kind of event is being held and why I am being hired. At this point I can fit whatever mold you need me to fit. Am I the primary attraction for the event? Am I to play a more background roll? Is there certain songs you need me to perform? (Usually pertaining to wedding ceremonies and or first dances etc.)
I am capable of playing 3-5 hours of music if required. During that time I usually talk to the audience and get a feel for the atmosphere. Is it a more upbeat dancelike mood or more relaxed? But all in all you are going to hear songs that put a smile on your face and performed in a way that will impress, and make whatever event I am playing at very enjoyable.
My name is J.Michael Terrell. Growing up I started out on Piano then moved to bass guitar, quickly picking up acoustic and electric guitars as well.
I did not pursue singing until 2018. If I was honest I was scared of being any kind of "front man". I took a leap and entered into a singing competition. I took 2nd place which gave me some confidence. I then decided to figure out where and how I could continue playing music locally. I started out at farmers markets and recieved a lot of good feedback. I met an individual who opened my world up to a lot more opportunities to play. I started playing at restaurants, parties, and any kind of special event you can think of.
Fast forward to 2022 I decided to take it up a notch. I bought a looperboard which allowed me to get a little more creative with my shows. I threw in a little beat box, I bought a bass pedal and started experimenting with sounds. This really allows me to be a "One man band". I can replicate drums, rhythm guitar, and bass guitar giving the listener every part of a song with essentially one guitar and my voice.
All in all I can say i've been a "full-time" professional musician for 2 years. I'm still fairly new at this and still figuring out where it is i'm trying to go. I completely 100% LOVE what I do everyday. So, If you require a musician who is willing to step up to the plate and be exactly who you need them to be, I am the right choice. You won't be disappointed.
I am extremely simple.
All I need is power within several feet of where you'd like me to play. I bring everything else that I need.

I grew up in the church and played a lot on Sunday Mornings. I got a lot of exposure there. So stepping out in the gigging world I realized pop music was very similar to the type of music I had already been playing for years. My influences that I feel like shaped the style of music I perform now are Andy Grammar, One Republic, Jon Bellion, Ben Rector, Restless Heart, and many more.
Most recently I found an artist by the name of Carl Wockner that has truly influenced the looping portion of my set. He pushes the envelope in ways most people are not expecting.
I feel like I have a fairly young list of names and influences that have shaped my style but that's what sets me apart from others I suppose.
