Recording artists aired on radio throughout the country, and the hosts of WEMM 107.9 FM, we play country bluegrass in traditional hymns and original tunes. We keep things both interesting and fun by playing numerous instruments, including guitar, mandolin, harmonica, ukulele, banjo, some violin and piano, and we can bring our professional-grade sound system. Performing for a variety of events, youth groups, church hymn sings, special programs, dinners and more. We want to come play for you and worship God, whether your group is big or small.
Joe and Rosa did and excellent job performing for our church. We were very please with their performance.
Response from Joe and Rosa Hopkins:

You can choose from among the variety of styles we are fluent in. Were we to do bluegrass/gospel, we would bring banjo, guitar and mandolin, possibly also harmonica and fiddle. We would play standard church songs, like, 'I'll Fly Away', in an upbeat fun way that would have everybody clapping and singing. We might throw in an original song or two.
If modern country is more your style, we would play some like what was mentioned above, but might also bring our backing track to play more tunes off our album. We would bring our projector and put the words up so people could sing along.
If classical is your style, we would play hymns instrumentally, along with some pieces by Bach. This style is harder to practice for and fill time with, so we may have to charge more in this instance. This style is usually for more formal occasions like weddings.
For Christian Contemporary, we have a backing track and plug in electric instruments along with acoustic ones. We project the words on the screen and usually share with the audience what the song is about. Our songs are all based off scripture, so there is usually a lesson to share. This style is good for youth groups or environments that can be more like a CCM concert. If you ask us to learn CCM songs that others have written, we would need to know ahead of time and would handle them acoustically without words projected.
Joe and Rosa Hopkins serve up fresh and original songs that give praise and honor to our Savior. By God's grace, we are also versed in the classics of the faith. Between us we can play violin, some piano, guitar, slide, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and ukulele. We give God the credit for everything He has done in our lives. Our first album was played country/gospel radio stations throughout the country, as was our Christmas album. We believe in writing theologically sound lyrics which are meaningful and brimming with hope. We also play in a variety of styles.
We currently host the show, 'The Joe and Rosa Show' on WDZY AM & FM, Richmond, VA. Rosa writes for the Huffington Post and for her faith-based blog. Joe is a correctional officer by day.
We do not have lighting requirements. We ask that you let us know if you have adequate sound equipment and if not, we can bring our p.a. We also have a projector we can use a stand we can set up. Our requirements are just that we have a space to play and an audience that wants to worship God!
