I didn't know what to expect hiring a magician for my husband's surprise birthday party, but I knew Joe was the guy as soon as we happened upon his show during an art walk event. He was quick to respond and helpful in making suggestions (we decided he'd do strolling up-close magic for guests with a magic trick at the end focused on the birthday man). He showed up on time and dressed casually so that he could blend into our houseful of friends and family. My husband, who had only seen Joe once with me during the art event, didn't catch on at first. But, it didn't take long before his eyes got huge and he realized our "housewarming" party was really for him. Joe amazed our guests, and he performed some of the best up-close magic I've ever seen, in person or on TV. Some of the best magic was with a small group in our informal living space. We just sat, listening to Joe talk about his past experience at a circus camp (ask him about it) in between these astounding card tricks. He even taught us a simple trick I'm sure none of us will ever forget how to perform. There's a warmth and humor to his magic that made us feel like kids again. Don't hesitate to book him for any event. Saw him perform with kids at the art walk, and he was equally enthralling for them. An all-around great person and it shines through his talent.
