Our group can accommodate any size event or venue from a big band feel for large events like festivals, weddings, and corporate events to tighter, more intimate spaces like beer gardens, private events, and cocktail hours with our duet/trio options. We can play anything from classic jazz standards to classic contemporary or pop tunes with The Joe Johnson & Friends twist on it. Each set list is curated to cater to your needs, clients, and/or audience. From the attire to the placement of the instruments, to the song selection, everything is catered to your specific event to get you and your guests a performance they'll love and come back asking for more of. Expect attention to detail and an eclectic array of sounds and styles to fit your needs and expectations. With over 30 years of combined experience, we are both teachers and students of our craft and want to give you the best experience possible.

Chicago suburbs-based jazz/funk drummer with 16 years of drumming experience. Whether it's jazz, funk, fusion, country, blues, or pop-punk we can cover it all. I run a local jazz jam where I am the house drummer and manage/run the Joe Johnson & Friends project. Our special duet/trio projects can accommodate any size or space. Need a full band for a wedding or special event? We've got you covered with dozens of musicians available to include in our project to get a brighter, more fuller sound if your event calls for it. Have a small or intimate location or site? The duet/trio group would be a great addition to your event. We cover classic jazz standards, pop tunes, and contemporary classics such as The Beatles, Bill Withers, Fleetwood Mac, and plenty more.
