First my comedy material is not for everyone. I would say that most of my shows are R rated. I can go up to 20 minutes PG rated. I would not hire myself for a child's party or church function. I do not use vulgarity for shock value. My comedy is based on events I have actually experienced. For example I have one story about a titty whipping. You can't tell this story without using those 2 words. I am not offensive, I do not work in politics, religion or race. I may bring up a recent current event. I don't really do crowd work but sometimes you fall in to a situation where I have to interact with the crowd or a specific audience member.
Overall if the audience is there to laugh I achieve that goal.
Joe Scrocca started doing stand up comedy in December of 2023. He has no formal training or experience in any type of entertainment. Joe hit the ground running and in 2024 his first full year of doing stand up was invited to open for national touring comics such as Steve Trevino, Tony Woods, Eddie Ifft, Teddy Smith and more. Joe has performed at iconic comedy clubs such as Rodneys, Broadway Comedy, Governors, Comic Strip Live, the Basement at Tommys, Tropicana Hotel & Casino and many more. Joe was selected for a part in a short film by award winning filmmaker Steve Oakley entitled Steinberg Plays Peoria (Joe is in Part 2). Joe was selected for 3 spots on the 2024 Meadowlands Comedy Festival, a spot on the 2024 Ugly Pancake Comedy Festival, Joe was a semi finalist in the Funniest Person in Delmarva comedy competition and Joe was interviewed on several podcasts to discuss his getting in to stand up comedy. Joe has already been selected to perform in the 2025 Good Karma comedy festival and the Great Canadian comedy festival in Toronto CA.
Joe has taken the comedy world by storm and continues to do so performing at least 10 shows per month.
I am very easy. I just need sufficient lighting so the audience can see me. I can work from a stage or a floor as long as everyone in the audience can see me. I need a PA system adequate for the room. I prefer a microphone with a cord (25 feet of cord) but I am fine with a cordless mic. If a cordless mic it must have fresh batteries and a clear sync with the sound board. If a cordless mic I prefer to have one back up mic as I have performed shows where cordless microphones just die out. I would like to have one bottle of water (no preference in brand) for the stage and one bottle for back stage. If the venue permits I would like a small table by the venue main exit to sell merchandise (please confirm venue will not charge for the merch table set up).
That's it. Pretty simple.
My set list changes but for a regular 30 minute show (R rated) I would most likely do the items on this list:
Milestone of doing stand up/first gig
Dad's Porn
Turning 63, ailments
Worst Advice
Pez Dispenser
My name is Joseph John
Tit pic
Prostitute
Hotboxed
Titty Whipping
Dating sites
LSD in pancake batter
Diner marketing
Mic Cord
Gyno
Wilton Manors
My style is rather unique as I am telling stories of events that I have experienced. However, if I have comedic style influences I would say Dom Irrera, Steven Wright, Carmen Lynch to name a few.
Lighting
PA System
