We gathered for our dad's 90th birthday in Scarborough, Maine yesterday. We wanted his party special. Family traveled from near and far away as GA to honor the man we love and respect. The moment my father heard the bagpipes there was instant deep joy, amazement and emotion. Josh played multiple songs including the Air Force song. What an incredible memory for him and everyone including his great-grandchildren.

Josh is a fantastic, talented bagpiper who went above and beyond to accommodate the needs of my family’s celebration of life for my uncle back in June 2023. He is versatile, flexible, compassionate, and impeccably responsive. Our whole family cannot say enough words to express our gratitude for the beautiful bagpiping he brought to our ceremony we thank him from the bottom of our hearts. I tried to upload video of all three songs he played for us. Well actually four but this site will not allow me to upload videos for some reason. So if someone wants video I’m happy to send it to them.

We did a program about Scotland at St. Andre Nursing Home in Maine. Josh McDowell provided wonderful Scottish music on three different kinds of bagpipes. He also shared stories about Scotland and, of course, he wore a kilt. The residents loved the program! We highly recommend him.

Josh did a great job playing outside the church for a funeral and then at the cemetery, Amazing Grace in the poring rain. Only wish I got to hear him more but those who attended the funeral enjoyed the pipes as they entered.

Josh the Piper performed at my Dad's military memorial service at Miramar National Cemetery as guests arrived at the ceremony as well as during the flag-folding. The bagpipes added such grace and awe to an equally impressive military tribute. Josh contacted me immediately with a number of suggestions since he has done a number of these military processionals in the past. I trusted his judgement and he did not disappoint. He also showed up at least an hour early to tune and make sure he knew where to go. Josh is highly recommended and I'd definitely seek him out for another event. Thanks again Josh!

Josh was great! He arrived early and was ready for the Memorial Service. We were on a university campus, which made it longer for elderly guests to get from parking lots to the building. So, we had to delay the start of the service a little. He played the summons longer, and everyone said they followed the sound to locate the building for a beloved professor's service. And his music inside for the service was perfect!

Josh led the Processional for my mother’s celebration of life, playing a beautiful Amazing Grace. It was exactly what we wanted. I appreciated that he showed up on time and waited more than an hour through the service to make his debut, following our instructions perfectly. He was lovely to deal with, too!

I hired Josh McDowell, Bagpiper, for my annual St. Patrick’s Day party at my home. Josh was very cooperative with my special instructions because it was a surprise for my guests. I asked him to tuneup and then, as a surprise, walk down the street into my yard. Everyone enjoyed his playing and his personality. When I submitted an inquiry about finding a bagpiper, I heard from 2 pipers. Both responses were professional and agreeable, but Josh's response was... well, enthusiastic. The gig was not a typical one, and Josh had some ideas that he shared to make it work well. He was so flexible and accommodating that the planning was remarkably easy. The event itself couldn't have been better. Josh's playing was great, and his enthusiastic participation was delightful.
