We hired Joyride for our wedding 7/16/11. The band was absolutely amazing. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about them! The dance floor was filled from the minute they started till the second they ended. Gary, Jimmie, Key, Duane, and the rest of the Joyride made our wedding a true night to remember!
JoyRide performed at my daughters wedding last weekend at Boyne Mt. All I can say is WOW!! We had another band booked already, but attended a wedding where JoyRide was playing. My husband and I looked at each other when they started playing and we couldn't wait until their first break to go talk to them. We met with Gary and Jimmie a month before hand, they listened to everything we had to say. The first words out of our wedding guests mouths were, where did you get this band! The dance floor was never empty. They are worth every penney. You can always cut back on flowers or decorations, people won't remember that part or the wedding. But, trust me they will be talking about this band for month's afterwards!!
As a wedding planner... I contacted JoyRide Band (located in Metamora, Michigan) through Gigsalad's referral site to inquire about prices for a client...
He (Gary Husted) responded quickly saying they offer a 6 hour package for roughly $6K... 4 hours of playing time & (2) 1 hour long pre-recorded cds.
I asked him how much he charges for a three hour package or hourly, instead because my client is having a non-traditional wedding & doesn't need a 6 hour package.
He then responded by being extremely unprofessional & rude. He also insulted me & my business. Here is an excerpt from his email:
"We are Detroit based local bands that SPECIALIZE in memorable and successful weddings. I personally know all those band leaders Jerry, Mel, Johnny, Bob, Simone, Chris, Stella, Wendy. I shared with them your email today. We thank you for a good laugh.
To find the type of wedding band you need, I suggest you visit some bars; and some bands that are starting to make it out of their basement.........better yet, snap out of your dream..........lol. Bahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop already!!!!! My our sides are killing us."
I am so happy, to be blessed enough that he showed how much of an unprofessional he really is before he got a holding deposit from myself or one of my clients. I will NEVER use them as a vendor for any of my clients.
