Just3

Just3 is the perfect name for this band, because it only takes three when a band has so much collective talent. No one plays over anyone else, and they all carry their weight. Just3 was very responsive, reading the mood of our crowd perfectly. They adjusted each set with a range of covers (multiple decades) mixed with great original pieces. We live in New York, but if we ever plan another event in NC, Just3 will be the first group that we call.

We had Just3 play for us at Millstone Creek Orchards in Ramseur, NC .... they were awesome, entertaining, and played long into the night ... we can't wait to have them visit us again !!!! Book them now ... you will not be disappointed ....

I have seen this band before, but they were even better this time. They play a unique set sprinkled with themes from TV shows, jazz standards and their own jazz adaptations of more recent pop songs. Both times I saw them the audience had a lot of fun trying to match the theme song to the name of the TV show. I am a musician, and to my ear, these guys are far more skilled at their instruments than ANY of the other bands I've seen that have members their age. In fact, it is good to see young people reviving Jazz and giving it a new direction.

Last time I rated these guys as a 4, because I was thinking that 5 should be reserved for the well-known pros. But I did them an injustice, because Gigsalad reviews are meant to compare local bands. In that context, they deserve 5s across the board.

They aren't too loud, their music is tasteful and fun... perfect for any audience, but especially suited to intimate settings like vineyards, orchards, church functions, private parties, corporate functions, restaurants, jazz festivals, campgrounds, community pools etc etc.

I will make it a point to see these guys again. I can wholeheartedly recommend them to any venue looking for a jazz band, and to any jazz patron who wants to hear some well-played jazz.

Just 3 Jazz WOWED our guests at our May 31st Sisyphus Saturday. Raymond Brooks and his band have great chemistry together, and that is translated in to the music they play. Just 3 Jazz are phenomenal performers and kept things going to the very end.

Raymond and the band were complete professionals. They were prompt with any queries, prompt in set-up, and most importantly, engaging in their interaction with our guests. Just 3 Jazz will be regulars at our Sisyphus Saturday Series!

I rate this band as a solid "4" all around, because in my mind a rating of 5 would be reserved for the legends like Pat Metheny and other well known published acts. These guys are local NC musicians, but they are VERY good, well worth taking time to see them. The only reason I didn't rate them as a 5 is because they aren't famous yet. But, there's still time. (Come see them while you can still afford the tickets)

My name is Jon Carter. I am the owner of Ten Ten House of Jazz Rhythm & Blues located in Danville Virginia. Just3 performed for us on Saturday, March 1. Very simply, if you don’t hire these guys to play for you…. you will have missed something special. These three talented musicians have a smooth, funky jazz sound that had everyone in the entire house, bopping, closing their eyes and feeling the music. My kitchen staff even cut off the loud, grille hood choosing to breathe smoke, just so they could listen to these wonderful musicians. They were on point in every facet…professional, on time, quietly set up without interruption and most importantly…they rocked the house. They gave us a variety of sounds, mellow and smooth as well as great dance music. In fact, these guys played a Grover Washington selection that sounded as if Grover Washington himself were playing…I think that says it all. I’ve already booked them to perform for us again in April and I will continue to bring them back as long as they are available. Trust me…..you will not go wrong with Just3.

I held a holiday party at my home and Just3 proved to be just enough. Although the space was small, the group was more than able to adapt. The fellows did not over play each other, and they maintained an appropriate sound level. They delivered a good selection of jazz as well as some familiar holiday songs, which my guests really appreciated, and some even sang along. The musicians were friendly and engaging. Ray Brooks did an excellent job in communicating with me, and I was well pleased with the outcome. I give Just3 an overall "Outstanding" and would certainly have them again, as well as recommend them to others. Just3 is definitely going to be the group to look for in the smooth jazz arena!

Just3 did a great job in communicating with the event organizers, arriving on time (prior to the event), and entertaining the guests at our Christmas party. They were friendly and accomodating to our needs and the needs of the guests. We've received a lot of great feedback regarding the band from those that attended the party, and we look forward to booking them again in the future.

Mr. Brooks and his band put on a phenomenal performance during a recent evening at our country club. Not only did everyone enjoy the ambiance created by the music, but they also were impressed by the sheer talent of the Just3 Jazz Trio. Guests were able to carry on a conversation without shouting. The instrumental quality was superb and I would highly recommend this ensemble to anyone looking to add a touch of class to their event!
