I Love playing the Harp for Weddings and Cocktail hours along with Bridal/Baby Showers, Memorial Services, Church teas, Anniversary/Birthday Dinners, Corporate Dinners and Nursing Homes!
I have been playing the Harp since I was 13 years old. I teach Harp and Piano Lessons in my home studio.
I am on time, flexible and want to help you make your special occasion perfect!

Karen was an absolute delight from start to finish. She came in promptly and needed very little set up time, and dove right into playing for our tea party. The guests were smitten! Karen exceeded my expectations as a performer and a human being. She provided background music for the calling hours/wake of my grandmother. We spoke on the phone and she took the time to figure out how she could best tailor her services to our event. I told her the family wanted a celebratory feel for the event. She provided a range of Irish/Celtic and sacred music over the course of 4 hours. Many guests who attended remarked on the joyful feeling at what one would presume to be a sad event. We know that Karen's skillful playing of the Harp was the contributive element that created that ambiance. I would highly recommend that anyone use her for their own event. I hope to use her services again in the future.

This most certainly depends on the venue for which I am playing. I try to accomodate the requests of the purchaser. I am professional in appearance, time schedules, and am very friendly and easy to work with.
I have been playing the harp since I was thirteen years old. I presently teach harp at Terra State College in Fremont, OH and also at my home studio. I am the director of the Terra College Harp Ensemble and the Karen Westgate Harp Ensemble. I have played in the past for Sunday Brunches at the Sawmill Creek Lodge, Sheraton Inn, Sandusky Yacht Club, Plumbrook Country Club and for many programs, open houses, corporate events, teas and dinners throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky Minnesota and South Dakota. I have released ten recordings which are sold in specialty stores throughout the United States.
I am a member of the American Harp Society, the Erie County Chamber of Commerce. the northwest Ohio harp chapter. I was also inducted into the Fremont Ross Music hall of Fame in 2001.
My specialty is sacred, pop, show tunes and light classical music.

For weddings some of my songs are: Canon in D, Trumpet Voluntary, Ode to Joy, Wind Beneath my Wings, Unchained Melody, Endless Love etc
I try to play for the audience. If it is an older group, such as a health care center, I play songs from their era. Try to do some, "Take me out to the Ballgame", Let me call you Sweetheart" etc. If I am playing for a middle age group I play a lot of show tunes, or songs like "All I ask of You", "You Light up my Life", Somewhere over the Rainbow, Edelweiss, etc. I also play some songs such as "All of me Loves all of you", She will be Loved.
For church groups, I play sacred music, such as "How Great Thou Art.", The Old Rugged Cross, What a Friend We have in Jesus etc.
