The band played some good hits from the 80's...My Style!

*"What does your typical performance entail?"*
Karmacode generally plays three 50-60 minute sets over the course of a performance with two 20-30 minute breaks in between. During those breaks, we can play a custom playlist through our speakers or...
You can book our resident DJ to perform throughout the event to keep the dance floor energy high and take any song requests we can’t manage. Oftentimes, we’ll have him set up to play while guests are arriving, between our sets, and at the end of our performance.
Does your wedding, party, or event require a different format than this? Not a problem! Let us know how you see us fitting into your schedule and we’ll be happy to make reasonable accommodations.

*“Our uncle plays a mean kazoo / accordion / bagpipe, can he jump in on a song with you!?”*
Karmacode already knows your uncle and we're best friends...
So if he knows some of our repertoire, can bring his own instrument, and possibly commit to a rehearsal with us, we’re definitely open to sharing the stage for a song or two.

Karmacode receives many song requests but, sadly, we can't always accomodate. If it’s an easy tune to learn, we might be able to perform it that same night! Otherwise, the most popular requests usually get tackled first and we’ll do our best to prepare it for the next event.

"We would walk 500 miles
And we would walk 500 more
Just to be the band
That walked 1000 miles
To you and then perform!"
Karmacode readily plays within Ottawa and the valley but we’re always open to travelling beyond for special events. If your date is open on our calendar, and we can arrange to commute the distance, we’ll make every effort to accommodate you!

"People are still raving about how amazing you guys were! It was an awesome night and you guys were simply phenomenal! Thank you for everything!" - Teagan & Jay
We are a collective of Canadian & British musicians who've shared stages with the likes of such national treasures as: Tom Cochrane, The Guess Who, Dean Brody, Glass Tiger, and Sass Jordan so you know you're dealing with professional, top-caliber talent.
"We just wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU to the whole Karmacode gang for an amazing performance at our wedding! We've been receiving a ton of positive feedback from our guests. Everything was perfect - your setlists, volume levels, and overall sound - just perfect!" - Siam & Kate
Karmacode was born when a couple of all-star members from a pick-up league of musicians came together to share their love of pop, rock, and dance music after performing together at the Canadian Tire Centre in 2012. Since then, they've been performing for thousands of fun-loving attendees at weddings, events, holidays parties, backyard BBQs, and local bars & restaurants.
"Karmacode brought such a fun vibe to our wedding years ago that we've had them back to three parties since! Their set list is always perfect to bring the fun! We received so many compliments from our guests! Can't wait to work with them for future shows, they're so easy to work with!" - Jeremy & Alanna
In 2018, Karmacode was awarded for "Best Live Music" at the Ottawa Wedding Awards. We're also an Encore Outstanding Artist so you can be sure that planning and event with us will be a breeze.
"Thank you for your professionalism, amazing musicianship, infectious energy and for making the party so memorable. Our guests are still raving about how much fun they had dancing and singing all night long!" - Terri-Lee
*“What does your setup look like and what do you need to start the show?”*
Karmacode will generally arrive 60-90 minutes before we’re expected to begin playing to set up our instruments, equipment, and stage gear.
We can provide our own P.A. system, speakers, mics, lighting, and power supplies but request that two independent circuits be provided to plug into.
We take approximately 15 minutes to run through a quick soundcheck to ensure that our levels are balanced and the volume is appropriate for the venue and event.
Our stage requirements are roughly 15 x 10 ft. for our acoustic trio and 20 x 10 ft. for our 5-piece band. We simply ask that a solid platform or surface be made available so that we're not setting up on unstable ground (like grass).
If the reception or cocktail portion of your wedding takes place in the same location as your ceremony, we can make arrangements to set up at a quiet moment before things get started - We wouldn’t want to interrupt your vows!
