Kayla Scott is an accomplished vocalist born and raised in NYC. Kayla covers a range of styles from pop to broadway to r&b to jazz and is available for weddings, parties, bands, studio or session work, and more! She can be hired as a solo/lead vocalist, , music educator, event host, actress, guest speaker, background vocalist or voice actor.
I contacted Kayla approximately a month before coming to NYC from SC and she was very easy to correspond with in getting all the details hammered out. I had a carriage ride arranged in central park and her and the driver contacted each other to make sure the location and timing was perfect. After I proposed Kayla sang At Last by Etta James while me and my fiance slow danced and it was very romantic and she did it with no music! She has an amazing voice and I would recommend her for any occasion your planning!
Kayla Scott is a singer that I have worked with in both a live & studio setting. One of talents that struck me right away, in the studio, was her ability to take direction and execute. Even the the smallest nuance was able to be altered by her, vocally, and still keep that great performance.
I've seen numerous times the audience respond to Kayla when she has a featured spot on stage. She's a joy to listen to. She delivers it with rock'in soul & musical integrity. Kayla would be a great vocal asset in any situation. Mark Fineberg Saxophonist/Producer
Kayla Scott is incredibly professional and understands the needs of event organizers and guests. Her rate is very reasonable, especially for the high quality event she delivers. Besides having a fantastic voice and the ability to go from pop to big band to rock seamlessly, she is reliable and honest. She really makes an event come alive.
I met Kayla (2012) on the job with "Current Affair", and was I ever in for a Pleasant Surprise!!! Kayla is a very strong, dependable vocalist; she's just as fresh at the end of the night as she was at the beginning of the night ... she loses nothing (diction, pitch, range), and she's a pleasure to watch while performing! A beautiful young sister Kayla Scott!!!
Kayla Scott in my opinion is a fantastic singer. She has great range and quality to her voice. Whether it be a dance tune or a beautiful ballad it all sounds perfect when this young lady sings them. Experienced, professional and passionate about her career is what you will see when she is on stage. Then when you meet her and talk to her you'll see how polite and personable and down to earth she truly is. Kayla Scott will be a highlight at your event and will have your guests talking about her long after the party is over. Speaking from experience hire Kayla Scott you will not be disappointed.
I hired Kayla to record an original song I wrote for our non profit foundation. I had Kayla sing the lead vocals and I couldn't be happier! Her professionalism and dedication to the project was outstanding. Her vocals added energy to the song and made it exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend Kayla for any project / event and you will be blown away! Scott N. Schoolnami, Inc. President
I'm an audio engineer and I've had the privilege of recording a few demos for Kayla. Her voice is mind blowing! Not only does she shine in the studio but her stage presence and performance are impeccable. I would highly recommend Kayla for professional vocalist projects.
I am with the Merrell Down & Dirty Mud and Obstacle Series Presented by Subaru. We had our annual event at Pelham Bay Park a couple weeks ago and Kayla Scott performed the National Anthem for over 10,000 attendees. Her voice is one of a kind and we were so thankful to have you join us. We will definitely invite you back next year. Best Wishes!
I am an elementary school music teacher in Queens, NY. I recognized Kayla's talent when she was in the first grade and sang at our Glee Club holiday concert. Her sense of pitch, rhythm, harmony and general stage presence struck me as amazing, and I knew that she was going to make her mark in the music field. I'm so proud to have helped to contribute to Kayla's interest and love of music. A multifaceted and gifted performer!
I've known Kayla since she was just a young girl. I've been her voice teacher for many years, and I must say that her talent far exceeds most!! As we say in the business, she's got great chops!! I've heard her do cover songs that sound as good if not better than the original artists'. Have had many stars come through my studio, even Taylor Swift, but no one's voice stands out in mind as much as Kayla's!!
The first time I heard Kayla sing it was obvious to me that she is a pro. As a clasically trained musician, it is quite easy to distinguish a great singer from the rest and with Kayla it was a no brainer. Listening to her sing on several occasions gave me enough time to evaluate her ability to sing various genres, which she does with equal brilliance. Her vocal range, technique and voice control are just a few of the strong areas that make her a great singer that she is.
Personally, I would strongly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a vocalist for any event.
I've used Kayla a session singer for numerous demos. Kayla always comes prepared and has a very versatile catalog of genres she can cover. I highly recommend her to all!
Its far and few between that you meet that very special entertainer that is able to create a presence in her room without overshadowing the guest of honor. Kayla is personable, approachable and just nice to be around then she belts out song after song of soulful, high energy awesomeness. Her versatile range makes all genres of music possible. I could listen for hours and hours! Talent, Pride, Confidence, God given gift.... dunno but this one is an up and coming star!
A gem to say the least.. Even more so providing an amazing vocal presence, she has amazing control and isn't your above average belter.. She's better. Obviously you can just tell by one listen, that the talent she possesses isn't just talent, it's talent-honed. I've had an honor of listening to her talents on more than one occasion, and every performance from what I've heard is as refreshing as her voice...and... it's consistent. Need a singer who'll wow everyone experienced and non-experienced? Don't look further than Kayla

Kayla has been a featured singer at our nursing facility and our residents just love her! She takes her time to talk with them before and afterwards and is very kind. She is very engaging to watch and always interacts with her audience. It's pretty rare for someone so young to have such a vast knowledge of big bands and swing type music as she does. This is the kind of music that our mostly older patients love because it is from their childhoods. We love having her. I would highly recommend her for any event. Very professional.
I have seen Kayla perform on several occasions, as a soloist and also backed up by a live band. To sum it up, she is an amazingly talented vocalist and performer. She can sing anything from pop to standards, show tunes to R&B, and everything in between. She's dynamic, believable and entertaining in her performances and I get chills listening to her every time. It was an absolute privilege to see Kayla perform live and can't wait to see her future performances.
Kayla's crystal clear phrasing and warmth enhance pop standards, Broadway melodies and contemporary tunes, among many genres. She is a dedicated artist who takes her craft seriously with an enviable effervescence. I have seen a number of performances, both as a featured soloist and a member of an ensemble in a musical production. Kayla leaves me with a smile on my face. I have always felt that she enjoys performing and expanding her skill. She is a sheer delight. I would consider hiring her for a special occasion without hesitation.
I took in Kayla Scott's performance at the Resorts World Casino. Her performance was dynamic, polished and engaging. Her voice is one of the most powerful, beautiful contemporary voices that I have heard from new artist. Her range in genres is a wide one. Her band was professional and enjoy their stage presence and performance. Their professional set list was truly interesting and it left me with something to go home and sing to. Kayla Scott and her band rock! I recommend Kayla for all venues.

Kayla Scott is a singer born and raised in New York City.
When Kayla was only two years old, she heard Mariah Carey sing 'Vision of Love' on VH1 and the rest is history.
A product of a family of entertainers, she grew up completely surrounded by industry professionals who made sure to guide her in the right direction. Almost right away, she discovered a love of singing, acting and dancing and wanted to perform wherever and whenever she could. She spent over ten years studying and performing ballet, jazz and modern dance through private instruction and becoming a student of the famed Broadway Dance Center. She had the honor of being part of the ABA Junior Ballet performing at Lincoln Center. Meanwhile, she also focused on her acting training and studied improvisation, comedy and classical theater. She took classes at the Lee Strassberg Theater Institute, and was a part of several regional, touring company & community theater productions.
Though she continues to love acting and dance, nothing could compare to her love of singing. At age 9, she began private voice lessons after already singing at every opportunity that had arisen. She has studied with some of the best teachers in the world - notably Junior Mance, Amy London, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Samuel McKelton, Kate Kelly, Joan Styles, Jackie Presti and Norma Garbo. She has been involved with such groups as the Queens Oratorio Society, The Treble Singers, NY Singers Forum, and various choirs. She began her Undergraduate Studies at the New School Universitys' Jazz and Contemporary Music program in January 2006.
Kayla began performing with wedding bands/dance bands professionally in her late teens. She has spent the last 10 years cultivating her craft - always striving to stay on top of all current music, trends and technique. She freelances as a lead vocalist with several top bands/orchestras throughout the Tri-State area. She has performed at hundreds of venues all over the country and at the parties/events held by some of the biggest celebrities in the world including Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Martin Scorcese, David Letterman,
Being a strong session vocalist is something vital to any singer who wants to stay busy. For the last 12 years, Kayla has lent her voice to several jingles (BoardReview, Listen Up!), commercial and radio spots (ESPN, SportsCenter, MIXX) as well as on submission demos (reference vocals) for songwriters trying to sell their pieces to record labels. She has become known for her attention to detail and quick delivery/turnaround time in the studio.
Kayla is also private vocal coach. She teaches singing in both midtown Manhattan and Astoria, Queens to students of all styles and ages.
Her personal musical influences include singers spanning all genres. From pop divas like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Kelly Clarkson... to jazz/big-band greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole and Billie Holiday... to Broadway legends Bernadette Peters, Kristen Chenowith or Nathan Lane... and soulful performers like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.
She is a powerhouse vocalist with irresistible artistry and distinct style who compels her audiences to keep listening.
