Originally from Japan, I’ve had the pleasure of living in this wonderful city for the past 17 years. My musical repertoire includes jazz, R&B, classical music, pop songs, blues, rock, gospel, and New Orleans piano.
I am dedicated to providing the perfect musical ambiance for a variety of events, such as wedding ceremonies, cocktail hour parties, corporate events, wedding dinners, private parties, birthday parties, engagement parties, and more. Whether you need a solo piano, a violin and piano duo, a piano trio, or a full band, I can provide the ideal music and ensemble to make your event unforgettable.

Keiko kindly (and expertly) played at a welcome reception for a 50th birthday party. We wanted her to choose the selections and she did not disappoint. We were delighted that she played several songs from my partner’s birth year. I sincerely recommend Keiko for your next event!

Hi, I’m Keiko Komaki. Originally from Japan, I’ve called New Orleans home for the past 17 years. My musical repertoire spans jazz, R&B, classical music, pop songs, blues, rock, gospel, and New Orleans piano. I can seamlessly adapt to any occasion, whether it’s a wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, wedding dinner, private party, birthday party, engagement party, and more.
I offer solo piano performances, as well as violin and piano duos, piano trios, or full band arrangements. Based on your requests, I will provide the perfect music and band for your events!
About
My Bio
Keiko Komaki is an accomplished keyboard player born and raised in Kagoshima, Japan. She began learning classical piano from her aunt at the age of five. After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music, she performed at various venues in Tokyo. Fascinated by New Orleans jazz and funk, Keiko moved to New Orleans in 2006 to immerse herself in its rich musical culture.
In New Orleans, Keiko played with the late Marva Wright and Benny Turner, and has since collaborated with many of the city’s beloved musicians, including George Porter Jr., Vasti Jackson, Marc Stone, Charlie Wooton, Gray Brown, Sierra Green, Sam Price & True Believers, Brass-a-holics, and more.
In 2014, Keiko joined the international project Playing for Change (PFC) band, embarking on a worldwide tour that took her to 20 countries across Europe, Australia, Japan, and South America. Her performances with PFC have graced prestigious stages such as the United Nations, the John F. Kennedy Center, Argentina’s Direct TV Arena, and the Byron Bay Bluesfest. She has shared the stage with renowned artists like the Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, Lee Oskar, Keb’ Mo’, and Ellis Hall.
In 2019, Keiko featured in the PFC video “The Weight,” performing alongside Robbie Robertson of The Band, Ringo Starr of The Beatles, and Marcus King. The video received acclaim from publications like Rolling Stone.
Since 2021, Keiko has focused on her own projects, including the Keiko Komaki Band and the KJD Trio.
