I am a Pianist/Keyboard player at Reed and Greenough, an upscale Piano Lounge in the San Francisco Marina. I can read, write, compose music. I play Top 40's, Motown and Contemporary songs. I play all song requests, do sing-a-longs and live Karaoke.
Kelly was a phenomenal addition to our big day! He's such a pro and brought the fun, classy, jazzy vibes that we envisioned for our wedding. 10/10 recommend for all your piano needs
Kelly was a delightful addition to our party. He played a varied selection of music, including a couple of "Disney" lyrics when my grandchildren were around. Thank you, Kelly. You added great context and verve to our baby shower!
We hired Kelly Keys for a small corporate event for our company. Our members loved the show he put on! He has such a variety of music he's able to play. Definitely booking him for many future events!
I took a chance and booked Kelly for a birthday party, and it was a worthwhile chance that I took!
Everyone was impressed with Kelly’s song selection, his professional setup, and his delightful attitude.
From the actual booking to the completion of this party - It was such an efficient, simple, and high quality experience. I would absolutely recommend and I will personally use Kelly again.
Kelly Keys can play piano, but he can't follow directions or arrive on time. We hired Kelly a couple of months ago to play at our 6 pm wedding on a Thursday night in Sacramento. He was playing 2 songs for 2 singers, and then I had asked that he play the Bette Midler song, Chapel of Love as we walked down the aisle. We exchanged a few texts and emails discussing which version of the song I wanted... and he assured me he could load it on his Spotify and play it through his speaker system. 2 days before the wedding, I got in touch again to verify time and date and place, and he informed me that he had a mother gig in Oakland that ended at 3 PM, but that he would be there in plenty of time since it's only a 90 minute drive from Oakland to Sacramento...which is true at 2 AM when there is no traffic...otherwise it's a 2 to 2 1/2 hour slog through traffic. He arrived at 5:45, thereby not giving the singers and him time to rehearse. AND...when it came time for him to play the Bette Midler song, he had no clue what was being asked of him. The minister told him he was supposed to be playing Chapel of Love...so he scrolled through his music (somewhat desperately) and eventually started to play a SLOW version of a very peppy song that we ended up walking down the aisle to. NOT AT ALL what we had discussed and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I would not hire this guy again...and although he played background music at the reception non-stop for 2 hours, his choice of songs after he played through the list we gave him was ...odd. Love theme from Godfather? If I could take back half of the fee I paid, I'd say I still overpaid for his services.
Response from Kelly Keys:
Hi Bob,
I’m sorry your event (without a Wedding coordinator and Hostess I never met) didn’t go as smoothly as you hoped. Your text instructions just before the Ceremony were confusing and difficult to follow. I arrived per my GPS at 5:30 pm. The vocalists and I rehearsed their songs in full before the ceremony. I think you will enjoy the songs as you review your videos that we performed “I’ll Tell the Man on the Street” and “Married”. I spent hours preparing YouTube samples of the songs so the vocalists could practice in their key and modulation requested. I performed several Love songs as your guests were being seated. Your contract time was 5:30- 8 pm. I finished playing at 9 pm in which I performed over 100 songs. This included songs that your guests sang along on microphone.
We hosted an intimate dinner party last night and Kelly played incredibly for us all evening. We couldn’t be happier. Kelly read the room beautifully and played all the crowd favorites. When the 11 year old birthday girl requested the song ‘Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich’ Kelly managed to make that happen. So fun. He even snuck in a quick lesson for the birthday girl. And the harmonica! A magical evening, We will be having Kelly back for future events!!! Thank you, Kelly 🙏🏻
Kelly is great to work with. We had open communication before the event, he was timely and his piano playing was so enjoyable. He made our party even better than expected.
Kelly was a wonderful addition to our Christmas experience! He was professional, prompt, and interacted well with our guests. His repertoire was perfect for the occasion, but I can also say his vast songbook will compliment any event. We are grateful to have had him join us!
I am so happy with Kelly's performance. He showed punctuality and amazing skills that helped me having a smooth and nice performance in the mass. I highly recommend Kelly for any piano/keyboard needs.
If I could give Kelly 1000 stars, I would!
When somebody loves what they do, it shows! He reads the crowd, smiles, and creates a super experience! I’d hire him again in a second! Plus, not just on time.. but early and prepared!
I threw a bash celebrating my wife's acheivement of earning her Master's degree. I wanted everything to go perfectly and Kelly exceeded my expectations. His music set the atmosphere for the evening. He even accompanied me while I serenaded my wife. Hire him!!!
