Born in Rochester NY Kenny started playing drums at age 10. Lessons rudimentary studies and theory. ​Studied at Hochstein School of Music (David Hochstein) and percussion workshop classes at Eastman School of Music. ​He ​began his musical career in high school playing in local Rochester bands and experimenting with recording. ​With a diverse rich music scene to plug into and musicians like Steve Gadd, Lou Gramm (Foreigner) Gene Cornish and The Young Rascals, Chuck Mangione there was a lot of energy to pull from. Toured the east coast through 1975 with Larry Miller band and Reasons. Then moved to L.A. in 1976 and started performing in local bands and doing studio work. Played in everything from show bands in Vegas (Ceasars Palace as well as many other venues) to original acts in LA working at venues like the Troubador, The Roxy Theater, Madam Wongs and working bands touring the country. Styles are Funk, Jazz fusion, Latin Jazz, R&B, Progressive Rock, Blues. Moved to SF bay area in 1989 and started an original act and local studio in the Northbay SF in the 90’s and continued production work in the SF bay area working with SF jazz Festival, Jack DeJohnette, Joshua Redman, Zakir Hussein and several dance companies from SF. Extensive background in production and theatrical staging. Kenny brings a wide range of style and energy with his drumming experience.
